Taylor Swift‘s latest album, “Red” has sold a staggering 1.2 million copies in its first week of release. In case you’re wondering, that is the highest sales total for any album since Eminem released his “The Eminem Show” ten years ago!

Taylor’s album is also the first one to break the one-million sales mark since Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” in 2011. In fact, only 18 albums have moved 1 million in a week since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991.

Let’s keep the accolades going: Taylor’s Red is the second-largest debut for a female artist–as in ever–coming in second only to the 1.319 million copies sold of Britney Spears’ “Oops! …I Did It Again” in 2000.
