Justin Bieber is not the only recent teen phenom discovered on YouTube.

Meet, Alyssa Shouse.

Shouse became a YouTube sensation by making her own homemade music videos from the set of her bedroom, singing both original songs and covers.

Millions and millions of video views later, Shouse grabbed the attention of recording artist and songwriter, Jason Derulo, when Derulo found a video of Shouse singing a cover of his song, Blind.

Derulo, who compares Shouse to Christina Aguilera by saying, “She has a huge voice in a little body,” took Shouse on and signed her to his music label, Future History.

The creative duo recorded her first album and with the help of my friend, director Justin Baldoni, filmed her first professional video for her song, aptly named, Overnight Celebrity.

Funny factoid: I played an extra in Alyssa’s music video as a red carpet paparazzi. The back of my head and my camera are the only parts which made the final cut. Bummer. SO much for knowing the director 😉 Hollywood is a tough town!
