Kim Kardashian and her 15-karat engagement ring appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday night. The 33-year-old reality star admitted that she has lost a whopping 50 pounds since giving birth June 15 to her first baby, daughter North West.

“I’d say the greatest challenge of my life, to have gained 50 pounds, and actually I got on the scale today and it said that I am 50 pounds down so that made me like so excited,” Kim said.

Kim also opened up about the harsh media backlash and criticism she received about her weight gain while pregnant and why she stayed out of the media eye for weeks after giving birth. “It really hurt my soul,” she said. “I was gaining weight because I was pregnant, and it was just really hard to read all these stories and hear all these nasty things … Why would I subject myself to so much negativity, especially now that I have a daughter? … I’ve definitely tried to live more of a private life because of that.”

Except for when Kim lost all the weight, she decided to come out of hiding and tell the world to suck it. And she did it by posting this now infamous selfie of herself in a white bathing suit. “I was trying on a bathing suit, and I actually just sent that to my boyfriend.. my fiancé, and I was like, ‘Babe, can I post this up? This is my big, like, middle finger to the world on everyone that called me fat.'”
