“The Most Trusted Name in News,” CNN, made the dumbest mistake of them all by unintentionally splicing in the explosive diarrhea scene from Dumb and Dumber into video footage for a story they were airing live on the student protests in London.

Apparently, the diarrhea clip was intended for a later story on ulcerative colitis, a serious digestive disorder afflicting millions of people; a disease which can and does have debilitating effects on lives.  Somehow, the video found its way onto the student protest story instead.

But, I tell you, even if the movie clip was only to be used for that other health piece, is that really a clip which should be shown on a news channel claiming to be the most trusted news source of them all?  Trying to be funny about or tying in a funny clip into a story on a serious affliction with no known cure is insensitive at best, and flies in the face of journalistic integrity at worst. Way to go CNN.
