Lady Gaga was finally forced to cancel her concert in Jakarta, Indonesia after protests from a religious group claiming her “pornographic” dance moves and barely-there outfits would destroy the country’s morals.

Gaga had previously taken to Twitter to explain the situation: “The Jakarta situation is 2-fold: Indonesian authorities demand I censor the show & religious extremist separately, are threatening violence.”

After the show’s cancellation, Lady Gaga again took to Twitter to express her feelings. “There is nothing Holy about hatred,” Gaga tweeted Saturday. “We had to cancel the concert in Indonesia. I’m so very sorry to the fans & just as devastated as you if not more. You are everything to me. I will try to put together something special for you. My love for Indonesia has only grown. #GagaSendsLoveToJakarta and all its people.”

Members of the group called Gaga “a messenger of the devil,” and said their supporters were among the 52,000 people who had bought tickets to the concert with plans to stop it. This lead Jakarta police to recommend that Gaga’s concert permit be declined to prevent disturbances.
