SPOTTED: Joshua Ledet and Hollie Cavanagh having dinner at The Grove right after the duo escaped another round of eliminations on Thursday’s American Idol. 

For those of you thinking this is proof that Joshua and Hollie are dating, think again. They each ate at separate restaurants with their own respective families. There was no sign of Phillip Phillips or Jessica Sanchez.

So, what’s that all about?

Joshua told THR: “I was scared of what Philip was going to do onstage because backstage, he was saying ‘I’m going to do this, I’m going to do that.’” Joshua further explained: “So I was nervous of what he was going to do.” Joshua says he was scared that Phillips was going to do something “horrifyingly embarrassing,” so, Joshua pulled away. “I was scared,” he said.

Phillips himself had something to say about that exchange. “We had to make the best of the situation because we were both, like, ‘Why are we doing this song?’ We didn’t really want to look at each other because we thought it would be weird, so at the end we just said, let’s have fun with it.”
