In celebration of the upcoming August 10, 2010 launch of EA’s Madden NFL 11, the NFL and EA teamed up last week for their annual Pigskin Pro-Am Event in Malibu, CA which consisted of a flag football game played by favorite past and present NFL players along with an interesting mix of Hollywood celebs. The NFL and EA have teamed up to create a unique and exciting program to celebrate EA’s release of NFL Madden 11 and are looking for 1,200 fans to attend. The Event, set for July 22, 2010 (1 -9 PM) will feature 2 teams of 10 participants playing a modified flag football game on a special field in Malibu, CA.
Each team will consist of 4 NFL alumni and 4 celebrities, and 2 current NFL players as coaches. For each participant on the winning team, the NFL will donate Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) to the charity of their choice. Continue reading
Some women are athletes’ good luck charms; some are their Achilles’ heels. The Dallas Cowboys have already suffered through the worst kind of the latter type of women; here is hoping that they now have a good luck charm hanging on to one of their star players.
As a huge Cowboys fan, I am rooting for the new romance between Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver, Miles Austin, and Kim Kardashian to move away from tabloid gossip and fully blossom into a long-lasting relationship. In August 2006, I was visiting Los Angeles, and had invited some friends over for a swim at my brother’s condominium building in Santa Monica. At some point that day, I noticed my friends Martin and Adam doing laps with a guy I had not yet met. After they swam a few laps together, the new guy came over to the side of the pool where I and my cousins were swimming.
We all started talking and the new guy eventually asked us what we did, and we each told him. Then, one of us asked him what he did, to which he answered, “I play ball.” Someone asked, “For what college?” The guy responded, “Oh, I never went to college. I play professionally.” Continue reading
