American Idol‘s Top 12 is already one man down — and the contestants have yet to perform and compete this week.
So, what happened? And who is out?
It turns out that the show’s “Gentle Giant” may be getting a not-so-gentle boot by the producers for having lied about his past criminal record.
Of course I am talking about 25-year-old Jermaine Jones who Tweeted Tuesday that he is leaving the show. “Awww I will no longer b on the show,” Jones sent from his official Idol Twitter account before the message was deleted.
Fox has yet to comment on the situation but TMZ reports that the singer will be disqualified for lying to producers about his alleged criminal past. Apparently, Jones was arrested and charged in 2011 with two crimes. Jones provided the police with fake name each time.
You may recall, Jones did not even originally make the final 24 but the judges changed their mind and brought him back to the live shows. He was in the bottom two guys last week. Idol insiders claim Jones will appear on tomorrow night’s performance show but will be cut at some point. Tune in tomorrow to see how it all shakes out.
