PHOTOS: The Voice Standout Juliet Simms: “Cee Lo Green Spoke From His Soul”

SPOTTED: A blonde Juliet Simms at The Grove in Los Angeles, for an interview with Renee Bargh of Extra.

We last saw the 25-year old Juliet as a brunette auditioning for The Voice on NBC by giving a haunting raspy rendition of The Beatles’ Oh Darlin.

Speaking to reporters earlier this week after landing herself a spot on mentor Cee Lo Green’s team, Juliet said: “I’ve always been the one on the sidelines watching my friends’ bands getting huge or they would blow up. I remember playing shows with Katy Perry back at the Viper Room five or six years ago.” She continued, “I’ve always been the one on the sidelines and it was finally, ‘That’s it!’ I’m not taking this anymore! I saw this opportunity and seized it and it’s worked out in my favor.” Continue reading

Michael Jackson Forever Tribute Rocks Out With Christina Aguilera And Jamie Foxx

The Michael Jackson Forever Tribute Concert kicked off Saturday to celebrate the life of the King of Pop.  Katherine, La Toya, Tito, Marlon and Jackie Jackson were in attendance as well as all three of Jackson’s children, Prince, Paris and Michael Joseph Jr. (Blanket).

Janet, Jermaine and Randy Jackson were absent because they were against holding the concert during the same time as Dr. Conrad Murray’s manslaughter trial.

Randy and Jermaine Tweeted: “While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael’s death.”

The Black Eyed Peas dropped out last minute and Jennifer Hudson did not make it, but Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx,  Leona Davis, Beyonce (via video), Christina Aguilera, and Cee Lo Green all performed. Fox sang MJ’s Billie Jean and Lady in My LifeLewis performed Stranger in Moscow with ballerinas dancing in the background. Beyonce sang I Wanna Be Where You Are, via video.

Aguilera belted Smile and Dirty Diana and Green gave a soulful rendition of I Can’t Help it and You Can’t Win.

Also performing were Smokey Robinson, Alien Ant Farm, Craig Davis, Gladys Knight, Pixie Lott, 3T (Jackson’s nephews), Yolanda Adams and Alexandra Burke who all sang some of MJ’s biggest hits. Foxx joined SLS and The Jacksons to perform Rock With You and Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough. Jackson’s children danced on stage during the show’s finale, Don’t Stop.

Jennifer Hudson Tweeted about her absence: “To my u.k. fans that were coming to the mj show in wales, I will no longer be attending due to major production issues. I would have thought they would have informed you all by now, so since they did not, I am. Thank u for your support.”

Javier Colon Owes A Big ‘Thank You’ To Justin Bieber For The Win!

Javier Colon was named the first ever winner of The Voice Wednesday night but he still can’t believe it’s for real.

Colon told Celebuzz in a post-win interview that he thought he had lost and was ready to congratulate co-finalist Dia Frampton when Carson Daly announced his name instead.

That’s fascinating considering his amazing talent, his favored status since day one, and his captivating stage presence, all of which was only amplified by the fact that Justin Bieber Tweeted to his then 10.6 million followers several times to vote for Colon in The Voice finale.

And if that weren’t enough, Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, also got behind the Twitter campaign and asked his almost 900K fans to do the same.

Despite such massive and unparalleled support for any of the other three finalists, Colon wasn’t convinced he’d win. “I was 100 percent in my mind, I was ready and prepared for Carson to say, ‘And the winner of The Voice is Dia Frampton.’ I was going to be okay with that because I absolutely love Dia. She is amazing and deserved a win as much as we all did,” Colon told Celebuzz.

OK, so, the win was unexpected for Colon, but, now, back to the possible game-changing Bieber plug–remember, only 2% of the votes separated Colon and runner-up Frampton. Did Colon know he would get the support of the second most popular celeb on Twitter before the finale? “Not at all,” Colon told Celebuzz. “Adam had played basketball with Justin at one point and knew his manager Scooter Braun, so they both tweeted out to their millions of followers to vote for me. Not sure if it was Adam’s connection to Justin or what, but he put his support behind me, and it meant a lot.”

Read the rest of Javier’s interview on Celebuzz where he talks about a collaboration with Adam Levine and Cee-Lo Green, his upcoming album and what he thinks of Dia.
What do you think of Bieber’s support? Was that cool or did it give Javier an unfair advantage over the other contestants? Did it end up being the difference in who won or do you think Javier would have won anyway? Should Javier send a “thank you gift basket” to Biber?

Javier Colon was The Voice‘s first winner and the show will return in January to go head to head with American Idol for its season 2.

Which singing competition is your favorite? Idol or The Voice? Or are you just dying for the premiere of The X Factor?

VIDEO: Get Ready iTunes, Dia Frampton Just Delivered Another Chart Topper On The Voice Finale

Team Blake Shelton’s Dia Frampton performed the original song Inventing Shadows on Tuesday (June 28) night’s The Voice finale on NBC.

Christina Aguilera said the performance was very lovely but Christina focused too much on the distraction Dia’s backup dancers had on the performance. Christina, obviously still thinking about Blake’s questioning of her use of props during a song by her former contestant Lily Elyse, asked Blake: “How can you get away with those distracting visual bells and whistles?” “With a great singer like Dia Frampton, that’s how,” Blake answered, putting a period on that debate.

Cee Lo Green said it was wonderful as usual and that she never ceases to amaze him and says the song will be number #1 on iTunes.

Adam Levine said it’s such a cool song and she’s so nice. Blake Shelton said it will be distracting for the other coaches when they turn on their iPhones in about 30 minutes to find Dia way up at the top of the charts.

Dial (855) 864-2303 to vote for Dia tonight.
