Have you heard of the “planking” craze taking over the country? You know, people who lay flat on their stomachs with their hands by their side on various objects?

If you are on Facebook, I am sure you have had at least one friend partaking in this bizarre ritual and posting pics of their accomplishments.

So, Katy Perry thought she would join the fun, but added her own strange twist. She tweeted this photo of herself as a mermaid, planking on a makeshift ocean perhaps?

She also Tweeted: “PROPER planking FTW! #itswhatArielwoulddo.”

I bet this is a sneak peak of her next music video.

Katy Perry is sad and all alone in Japan because her hubbie Russell Brand got deported from the country!

Perry Tweeted: “My husband just got deported from Japan. I am so. sad. I brought him all this way to show him my favorite place #tokyodreamscrushed.”

Katy explained, “It was for priors from over 10 years ago! #mamanothappy! #don’tmessw/mahman! #uwannaplaylet’sgo #don’ttakeawomansman fromhershe’llgetshiasty!”

The pop star made it clear that she doesn’t blame her Japanese fans! She also Tweeted: “But of COURSE I ♥ my Japanese fans & the show #MUSTGOON no matter the daily aftershocks or husband kidnappings! #it’snotrightbutit’sokay… #FREE@RUSTYROCKETS! RT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Video: ‘American Idol’s’ Frenchie Davis ‘Kisses A Girl’ & Shines On ‘The Voice’

I love people who never give up on their dreams. Case in point, Frenchie Davis who got disqualified on season 2 of American Idol for some racy photos she had taken earlier on in life, but who is still pursuing her dreams of becoming a bona fide singer 8 years later.

Fast forward to almost a decade after her dreams were crushed on Idol, Frenchie is trying out for a brand new singing competition, The Voice, starring Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton as “coaches.”
For her audition, Frenchie sang Katy Perry‘s I Kissed a Girl and Aguilera liked her voice so much, she blindly picked her to be on her team of 8 singers whom she will coach throughout the competition.

Russell Brand On Kissing Katy Perry . . .

Russell Brand won the honors of CelebMagnet’s Best Celebrity Quote of the Month in February and he seems to be a shoe in for that award again in March. Interestingly enough, both quotes revolve around Brand’s thoughts on his kissing partners. 

Brand is currently shooting Arthur, a remake of the 1981 Dudley Moore classic along with co-star, Jennifer Garner. While on set, Brand was interviewed by NextMovie.com about his co-star, Garner and he said: “She’s like a fairy princess. There’s a brand of red-velvet cake, her mouth is made of that. She smashes you in the mouth [in] those kissing scenes. If I was Ben Affleck, man, I’d be pissed off.” 


Brand appeared on The View Tuesday where Sherri Shepherd brought up the “red velvet” quote and gave Brand the chance to say something equally nice about kissing his own wife, Katy Perry. Of course Brand did not disappoint. “They are a conduit to paradise, a tunnel to another world. They are redemption, salvation, glory, poetry!” Brand gushed.  


WOW! I can honestly say Brand redeemed himself for last month’s quote.

Katy Perry is the March Elle cover girl. In the accompanying interview, Katy talks about her over-sized boobs, babies and her husband, Russell Brand.

Here are some excerpts:

On her big boobs: 

“I had these enormous boobs I didn’t know what to do with. I wore minimizers, which are not cute. Those thick-ass straps! I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder, and all I wanted was to look like Kate Moss…Little did I know these things would come in handy someday.”
On her younger years:
“I was like a square. I was! I’m generally around 130 pounds, which is totally fine for me. But when I was a kid, I was the same height and weighed more like 145.”
On her husband Russell Brand:
“Everything clicked really fast. We kind of instantly got past all the surfacey stuff. And ever since then, there hasn’t been a dull moment.”

On having kids: 

“I want to have kids!” Perry said. “I’m totally fine with saying that. I think some people are … worried it’s going to ruin their career, but I want to live a full life.”

Russell Brand Named Cosmo’s “Fun Fearless Male of the Year”

Russell Brand has been named the “Fun Fearless Male of the Year” by Cosmopolitan and, so, he graces the cover of next month’s issue.  In the interview for the cover, Brand talks about marriage to Katy Perry, when he knew he was in love, and his new Cosmo accolade!

On his marriage with Katy Perry:
“It’s amazing! Once you’ve said those things about commitment, you think, Well, it doesn’t matter if we have some disagreement about what should go where in the fridge. You’re married now, so you’ll just have to deal.” 

On when he fell in love:
“Well, she threw a bottle at my head when we first met, and she’s been doing that in some form or another ever since. The woman I fell in love with is constantly evolving and changing. She’s loving and a beautiful person.”

On the most fun and fearless thing he’s ever done:
“It’s pretty wild that I’m going to spend the rest of my life with Katy.”

On his new Cosmo accolade:

2011 People’s Choice Awards – Complete Winners’ List

The 2011 People’s Choice Awards were held Wednesday at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, CA.

Queen Latifah was the host of a star-studded gala which attracted celebs such as Selena Gomez, Zac Efron, Johnny Depp, Taylor Swift, and Natalie Portman.

Favorite Movie award went to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse which also won the award for Favorite Drama Movie.

Surprisingly, Lady Gaga was completely shut out of wins, opening the way for Katy Perry and Rihanna to shine.

Favorite Movie Actor award went to Johnny Depp for his roles in Alice in Wonderland and The Tourist. The crowd erupted in a standing ovation for Depp’s surprise appearance to accept the award.  Depp took time during his speech to say hi to Taylor Swift on behalf of his daughter. “My daughter said if I didn’t say hi to you I’d be in trouble, so hi from my daughter!”
The Favorite Movie Actress award went to Kristen Stewart, who explained that she and her co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner had been filming Breaking Dawn earlier in the day before rushing to the ceremony.

Eminem dominated the music category. He won Favorite Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Male Musician. His song with Rihanna, Love the Way You Lie, also won Favorite Song and Music Video.

Selena Gomez won for Favorite Breakout Artist and Taylor Swift won for Favorite Country Artist. Taylor Tweetd this photo after the ceremony with the caption, “Thank you SO much for the Peoples Choice Award! It’s sitting here all sparkly in my hotel room. I love you guys. :)”

Kim Kardashian Tweeted the photo of her with the award for Favorite TV Guilty Pleasure which went to Keeping Up with the Kardashians.

Russell Brand Tweets Pic Of Katy Perry With No Makeup – Quickly Deletes

OOPS! Russell Brand may have committed a cardinal sin – He Tweeted an unflattering photo of his otherwise always gorgeous in public, always meticulously dressed and dolled up wife, Katy Perry.

The photo (on the left) appears to have been taken when Perry had just woken up to a camera aimed at her pillow. She’s seen with a horrified look on her face, without a lick of makeup.

Brand quickly deleted the photo from his Twitter account but not before it had already leaked to the media. Let’s just hope for Brand’s sake that Perry is the forgiving kind.
