Mark Ballas and Bristol Palin, known as Team Ballin’on Dancing with the Stars, are still pretty stoked for receiving their highest judges’ scores to date on the show for their Tango during the Rock N’ Roll centric episode earlier this week.
The super-happy power duo showed up at The Grove today for an interview with Mario Lopez of Extra. Continue reading →
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino may have danced his last dance on Dancing with the Stars, but he did not seem too bothered by being booted off of the show tonight, as he was found partying it up after the show ended.
The Sitch met up with fellow DWTS cast members for a party at LA’s Boudoir for launch of the denim and twill lines into the mens’ Doctrine Collection.
The event was hosted by DWTS‘ Derek Hough.
Mark Ballas tweeted this picture via Twitter of The Sitch, his dad, Corky Ballas and himself from the party. Even though it’s Corky Ballas doing the fist pumping, The Sitch looks just fine and in high spirits to me. Cigarettes and lighter in hand to boot.
You have watched Mark Ballas perform as a professional dancer for the past several years on Dancing with the Stars. But did you know that he can sing too?
Ballas recently sang an intimate acoustic set at a local bar in Los Angeles, and below are videos of his live performances.
Bristol Palin was there front row and center cheering her dancing partner on! Here she is before the show started, getting words of encouragement from Ballas’ mom who is a world renowned dancer herself:
Ballas performing “Done” a song he wrote about a relationship gone sour. You can see Bristol Palin dancing to the song in this video:
Ballas performing “I Can’t Help:”
Ballas performing Pussycat Dolls “Giddy Up:”
Ballas Performing All Tied Up:”
You can watch and hear Ballas perform with a band every Monday night this month at The Mint in Los Angeles.
This is for all of you Googling “Mark Ballas and Bristol Palin Twit Pics.” I think Mark does send the best Twitter photos than any other Dancing with the Stars celeb, so, no wonder so many of you are looking for them! Here are two recent shots with their captions 🙂
Bristol Palin reacted to the judge’s criticsm this week that her Dancing with the Stars’ routine lacked acting skills by saying she is not an actress.
But, she has tried her hand at acting to a certain extent. Palin made a guest appearance as herself on the July 5, 2010, episode of ABC Family’s teenage drama, The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
And now, Bristol has made her first foray into the music video scene just days after her ex, Levi Johnston’s video made its debut!
“I think my role is like a Mother Nature role,” the New York Post quoted her as saying of her part in the video for Alaskan rock band Static Cycle’s single Inside This World of Mine.
“I wore a mink coat with a big fur hat … My eyebrows were all iced and my eyelashes were all iced,” the 19-year-old added.
Here is a rough cut of the video, which has yet to be released officially:
Dancing with the Stars‘ Florence Henderson needs no introduction. We know she’s a multi-talented actress, talk show host, recording artist, author, Broadway veteran and philanthropist. But all we keep screaming excitedly in our heads is: “It’s Mrs. Brady!!!!!” At least I did when I met her recently.
Florence played “America’s Favorite Mom” and matriarch Carol Brady, on the classic hit TV series The Brady Bunch, which aired for five seasons (1969-1974), has never been off the air in this country, and currently airs in 122 countries around the world.
Florence’s partner is Corky Ballas, the father of fellow DWTS cast member, Mark Ballas! Corky was also Cloris Leachman’s partner previously on DWTS. Corky has been dancing since he was six years old.
Growing up his father owned and operated one of the largest dance studios in the world and eventually invented the Weed Eater. His mother was a famous Flamenco Dancer who appeared in films and studied alongside Carmen Amaya.
Corky only started training for International Latin Dancing when he was 22. Here he met his dance partner Shirley (Mark’s Mom) who also trained him and would eventually become his wife. Together Corky and Shirley made up one of professional competitive Latin Dance’s most successful couples ever.
Corky & Florence with me 🙂
Corky is known worldwide for his choreography, music editing, music creation, costume design and much more. His achievements include: 7 time undefeated US International Latin Champion; 1996 Open To The World International Latin Champion; 2007 Pro Am Champion.
Together, Corky and Florence are known as Team Florky. If you want to vote for them to stay on this week, call: 1-800-868-3409.
Here is Team Florky meeting me and the Paparazzi at a recent acoustic show Mark Ballas sang at in Los Angeles:
Dancing with the Stars got into full swing of things this week with the show’s premiere on Monday and the shocking ouster of its first casualty, David Hasselhoff, on Tuesday.
One of the more interesting teams still vying for the Mirror Ball trophy are Mark Ballas and his partner, Bristol Palin, together known as Team Ballin’.
Bristol first entered the national spotlight when her mother, former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin was selected to be John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 Presidential election. Bristol traveled the country alongside her mother, father and siblings on the campaign trail.
After giving birth to her son Tripp, and becoming a single teen mother in 2008, Palin became a spokesperson for the prevention of teen pregnancy and other teen issues. As an advocate for the protection of life, Palin wanted to share her story with other teens who may one day face a similar situation. Palin also acts as Teen Ambassador for The Candie’s Foundation, to prevent teen and unplanned pregnancy.
Mark is one of the nicest, most down to earth people I have ever met. He comes from a family of international dance stars, so, it’s no surprise that Mark has two shiny Mirror Ball trophies at home. He even beat out his dad, Corky, and tied with childhood friend Derek Hough, for the wins: He won the DWTS title in Season 6 with partner Kristi Yamaguchi, and again in Season 8 with Shawn Johnson.
When he’s not dancing, Mark focuses on his other passion, which is music. He rocks out with his band on tour and in the studio, where he’s working to complete his upcoming CD, set for release later this fall. You can catch an acoustic show of his at the Viper Room in Hollywood, CA this Friday at 7:45pm. Per Mark, “The first 100 get in free. :)”
Mark and Bristol are currently in Alaska – and here are some pictures Mark Tweeted today and others from earlier in the week. Looks like Mark and Bristol are having a ball – make sure you tune in and vote for this duo!
Here are Michael Bolton, Rick Fox, Bristol Palin, Mark Ballas, Derek Hough, Chelsie Hightower, Cheryl Burke, Tony Dovolani, and others heading into and out of rehearsals.
What do Hollywood celebrities do on a long weekend? Seems like a ton of them run out of town and head east to Vegas. I know the cast of Dancing with the Starsis there celebrating the dual birthdays of Mark Ballas and Cheryl Burke at Tao. This is what another celebrity whom you may have heard of says about her time in Vegas this weekend on her Twitter account:
Paris Hilton: Back in my room getting ready for the night. I love The Mirage Hotel. My room has it’s [sic] own pool, jacuzzi, yard and mini golf putting green.
Paris, with all that IN THE ROOM, why would you need to get ready for the night..stay in..Oh the life of the rich and famous.
