Adele Must Stop Singing And Speaking For A Month To Save Her Voice

Grammy award winning singer and songwriter Adele has been ordered by doctors to stop singing and speaking for at least a month so she can heal from acute laryngitis – or risk damaging her voice permanently.

The singer was forced to cancel her North American tour earlier this month and it seems that things have not yet improved.

Adele is a smoker and that may be the problem and she apparently cannot kick the habit.
Adele is currently at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a sixth week with Rolling in the Deep.

She wrote on her website: “I’m really frustrated. I was hoping with a week’s rest I’d be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctors advice and rest some more. I’m so sorry.”

Adele has one of the most amazing voices I have ever heard, so, I, along with millions of other fans, all hope that she gets the rest she needs.

VIDEO: Amy Winehouse Booed On Stage – Cancels Tour Dates

Oh Amy Winehouse –right when we thought she was on the road to recovery, things went way wrong for the British singer.

During a concert in Serbia Saturday, Winehouse reportedly slurred and mumbled her lyrics – the ones she actually remembered that is. She also wandered aimlessly on stage as the crowd booed her. Watch the video below to get a feel for what I mean…

Her backup singers tried to fill in the forgotten words, but the singer’s lack of singing was just too much to overlook. At one point, she even dropped her microphone.

So, it comes as no surprise that her upcoming appearances in Instanbul and Athens next week were called off by her agent who said Winehouse “feels that this is the right thing to do” in light of her performance (according to USA Today).

“Despite feeling sure that she wanted to fulfill these commitments, she has agreed with management that she cannot perform to the best of her ability and will return home,” her rep said in the statement.

Winehouse’ tour will resume July 8 in Spain. Watch her performance below. What if you paid top dollars for this performance?

You can hear the crowd booing her in this news footage:

VIDEO: Britney Spears’ Dazzling Femme Fatale Costumes

“It’s opening night, bitch!!!!” Britney Spears tweeted before her Femme Fatale tour kicked off in Sacramento, Calif. Thursday.

The good news for Britney is that early reviews of the tour are glowing! Performing a mix of her greatest hits (ToxicI’m a Slave 4 U) and new songs (I wanna Go, Big Fat Bass), Spears razzle dazzled in one brilliant and skimpy costume after another.

Rolling Stone described the opener as “her flashiest, fastest moving, and most entertaining production yet.” The mag also said tour-opener Nicki Minaj brought her A-game. But, “the night belonged to Britney: She managed to prove that she’s still progressing as a showgirl. Not only that, she’s doing it better than even die-hard defenders would’ve predicted.”

Watch the video below showing some of the many elaborate costumes. Welcome back Brit!

Rebecca Black’s ‘Friday’ Video Vanishes From YouTube

It’s Friday, it’s Friday, but if you weren’t one of the lucky 167,370,534 viewers of Rebecca Black’s YouTube Friday video, you’re out of luck for seeing that video today or perhaps anytime soon–at least on YouTube anyway. Due to a copyright claim filed by Rebecca, the video has been pulled from YouTube.

Earlier this week, the infamous video had been pulled from the free catalog of videos on YouTube and placed behind a $2.99 rental pay wall by ARK Music Factory. After fan outcry, the video was back for free, but it has since been taken down all together.
Rebecca Black’s rep told TMZ:  “We can confirm that we submitted a Take Down Notice to YouTube as a result of the dispute we have with Ark Music regarding the ‘Friday’ video.”
Rebecca herself had taken to Twitter earlier this week to let her fans know the price hike was not her fault.

“Thanks for all the messages regarding the $2.99 fee added to Friday video, I have NOTHING to do with this!!” she Tweeted. “PS…My Manager and Lawyer are on this and are going to get to the bottom of this! Stay tuned…”

What A Year! Shania Twain Announces Las Vegas Residency

Shania Twain may haven fallen during the CMT awards, but things are otherwise looking up for the superstar in 2011.

In addition to releasing her memoir and getting her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year, Shania just announced a two-year residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
The Still the One concert series will begin on December 1, 2012 and she will perform 60 shows per year.

Shania told the media: “This is a dream for any recording artist. This is more than an opportunity, it’s an exceptional gift.”

This is amazing news considering recent reports that Shania has been struggling with dysphonia since her divorce, a medical condition which causes the muscles in her throat to squeeze her voice box and basically disabling her from singing.

If you have an American Express card, you can get advances pre-sale tickets starting tonight!

SPOTTED: Jimmy Buffett at The Grove, LA, for an interview with Jerry Penacoli of Extra. Jimmy talked about his new “Margaritaville Online” video game made for Facebook and iOS devices, due out this fall. This online video game will target Buffett’s devoted followers, known as Parrotheads.

Buffett plays himself in the game and says about the game’s development, “I was pretty actively involved in it because the key to it was finding somebody who basically knew the myth and basically were Parrotheads before. I didn’t want to have to explain myself to anybody anymore.”

Lauren Alaina Sets Highest Debut Single Sales For Idol Runner-Up In 6 Years

Lauren and me 🙂

American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina is quickly becoming an established artist. Like My Mother Does, her debut single, has already sold 121,204 digital downloads and entered Billboard’s all-genre Hot 100 chart at No. 20.

The sales mark the highest debut for a second place finalist in six years. The number 1 runner up is Clay Aiken’s This Is The Night / Bridge over Troubled Water which sold 393,000. Bo Bice’s Inside Your Heaven / Vehicle has a total of 121,423 downloads and Adam Lambert’s debut single Mad World sold 114,763.

Lauren loves it! She says, “This is so awesome! American Idol’ has changed my life, so I’m excited that the songs I performed on there are doing so well. I can’t believe that I have a song out on country radio, much less that so many stations started playing it right away. I can’t wait to get out and meet everybody and thank them personally for playing my song.”

In case you’re wondering, Idol winner Scotty McCreery sold 171,000 downloads of his debut I love You This Big —A song which debuted at No. 32 on Billboard’s Nielsen BDS-based Hot Country Songs chart. THAT may not sound so impressive until you also take into account this little fact: NO new artist’s first single has debuted that high since Jan. 20, 1990.

Congrats Alaina and Scotty.
