Natalie Portman Marries Benjamin Millepied

Natalie Portman has been sporting a ring which looks very much like a wedding band since the Oscars but the rumors that she secretly got married to her Black Swan choreographer Benjamin Millepied were simply not true.

That is, until Saturday when the Oscar winner did actually tie the knot with her beau in a Jewish ceremony in front of family and friends. The nuptials took place in the coastal California region of Big Sur.

Congrats to the happy couple who are also proud parents of 1-year-old son Aleph.

Natalie Portman Got Married And No One Knew!

Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied somehow got married in Hollywood and no one found out.

Most of us didn’t figure this out even when the Oscar-winning actress and her beau Benjamin paraded their respective rings on the 2012 Oscars red carpet and in Natalie’s case, on the stage as well as a presenter.
Let us all now sigh out a collective, “Duh!”

Us Weekly was first to report on the additional wedding band Natalie was wearing at Sunday’s Academy Awards. But no one yet knows when and where the super quiet couple tied the knot. Continue reading

Natalie Portman’s ‘Black Swan’ Dance Double: “Film Producers’ Attempt To Portray Natalie As A Dance Prodigy Is Demeaning To The Profession”

Natalie Portman had a dancing double for her Oscar-winning role in Black Swan and Entertainment Weekly reports a “cover up” claim by that double.

The ballerina who danced in place of Portman at various points in the movie tells the mag that Black Swan‘s producers are misleading the viewing public about how much dancing Portman herself did in the film.

That ballerina double is 27-year old American Ballet Theatre soloist, Sarah Lane, who says: “Of the full body shots, I would say 5 percent are Natalie. All the other shots are me.”

Lane performed many of the film’s complicated dance sequences and allowed Portman’s face to be digitally morphed with her body.

Benjamin Millepied, who holds the titles of Portman’s fiancé, soon-to-be baby daddy, and Black Swan choreographer (and co-star) came to Portman’s rescue by telling the L.A. Times Wednesday, “There are articles now talking about her dance double that are making it sound like [Lane] did a lot of the work, but really, she just did the footwork, and the fouettés, and one diagonal [phrase] in the studio…Honestly, 85 percent of that movie is Natalie.”

Lane, who has pretty much stood by unknown during awards season (Natalie did not mention Lane during her Oscars acceptance speech and Lane is only listed as an extra in the film’s credits) also told EW that Black Swan producer Ari Handel wanted Lane to remain silent about her work on the film. Lane says: “They wanted to create this idea in people’s minds that Natalie was some kind of prodigy or so gifted in dance and really worked so hard to make herself a ballerina in a year and a half for the movie, basically because of the Oscar.”
Lane continues: “It is demeaning to the profession and not just to me. I’ve been doing this for 22 years…. Can you become a concert pianist in a year and a half, even if you’re a movie star?”

Lane may have been asked to keep quiet but Portman herself has previously admitted she used a dance double. She told EW last year: “I do have a double for the complicated turning stuff. It was not anything I ever could have done in a year, nothing I could’ve caught up with. But I think it was just better for all of us if I did as much as possible.”

All of this “I did, she didn’t” talk seems moot now since Portman already nabbed the Oscar for her work on Black Swan.

Right after the 83rd annual Academy Awards, celebrities headed over to the Governor’s Ball taking place next door where guests were treated to a special menu created by Wolfgang Puck.

Appetizers included a sushi and shellfish station, smoked salmon on Oscar flatbread with caviar and crème fraiche, and black truffle pizza with ricotta and thyme.

There were three of Wolfgang’s signature salads, pan-roasted Dover sole, vegetable risotto “paella” and asparagus with Iberico ham and black truffle aioli.

In the background, a live band played and Moet and Chandon Champagne was found everywhere for consumption. This year’s ball was designed to resemble classic Hollywood nightclubs with décor modeled after three musical styles: classic standards, Latin and swing.

Adam Lambert Hopes To Have Next CD Out In The Fall –And May Give Acting A Try

Grammy-nominated Adam Lambert is gearing up to record his sophomore release, a follow-up to 2009’s For Your Entertainment.

He told PopeEater.com: “I can’t reveal much, but I’m crossing my fingers for a fall release date.”
And what will the new album be like? He said, “Great music is personal and real. That’s what this album will be.”

More good news for Lambert fans is that he will work with Swedish producer-songwriter Max Martin, who just happens to have co-written and co-produced the Grammy-nominated Whataya Want From Me.

A bit of a surprising news but not so surprising when you think about his good looks and charisma, Lambert told PopEater: “I want to give acting a shot.” And apparently, he loves Natalie Portman because he also said he would do a movie “in a heartbeat” if she were a co-star. “I love her! She’s amazing, and better win that Oscar.”
