American Idol 5/2: Contestant Telephone Numbers, Song Choices & Judges’ Comments

We are now down to our Top 5 on American Idol which airs a performance show tonight. It’s British Week!

Out Top 5 contestants will be singing two songs each, one from 60’s and the other from Brit pop. Per the photo of tonight’s song list posted above, the 60’s songs for tonight are: “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg” by The Tempations, “The Letter” by The Box Tops, “Proud Mary” by Ike and Tina Turner, “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival and “River Deep, Mountain High” by Ike and Tina Turner.  Continue reading →

After Thursday’s American Idol results show which eliminated powerhouse vocalist Elise Testone, we are now down to our Top 5 finalist.

Four of these finalists took time after the results were announced to go out to dinner with their families for a much-needed downtime and celebration: Hollie Cavanagh, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, and Skylar Laine were all spotted at The Grove. Phillip Phillips had yet another amazing night on the Queen-centered episode of American Idol April 25, 2012. For his first song, her performed Fat Bottomed Girls. SPOTTED: Phillip Phillips, Hollie Cavanagh, Skylar Laine and Joshua Ledet tonight, April 19, 2012 right after the shocking American Idol results show which sent Colton Dixon home.

All four, along with Elise Testone, were having dinner with their families at The Grove after the show tonight. Each happy and extremely humble contestant took time to speak with fans and take photos. Sorry, I couldn’t help but post my photos with each of these sweet souls!

Phillip Phillips Leaves Idol Judges Wanting A Little More [VIDEO]

On Wednesday night’s (April 11, 2012) performance episode of American Idol, Phillip Phillips performed Maroon 5′s song, Give A Little More which left the judges wanting a little more.

 The judges were much harder on Phillips than his performance warranted. Jennifer Lopez called the performance “underwhelming.” Randy Jackson agreed and said this wasn’t that “wow” kind of a moment.  Steven Tyler was the only judge with anything positive to say about the performance. He told Phillips that we have watched him evolve. “Keep with it.” Tyler advised. Continue reading →
