Wrestling legend and actor “Macho Man” Randy Savage died Friday in Seminole, Florida when he lost control of his vehicle after he suffered a heart behind the wheel. He was 58.
His wife, Lynn, was also in the car, a Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler flew across a concrete median onto oncoming traffic and eventually hit a tree head-on. Lynn survived the accident with minor injuries.
The couple had just celebrated their 1-year anniversary on May 10.
Hulk Hogan said via Twitter: “I’m completely devastated, after over 10 years of not talking with Randy, we’ve finally started to talk and communicate. I just pray that Randy’s happy and in a better place and we miss him.”
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also showed his grief through Twitter: “You were one of my childhood inspirations and heros. Strength, love and prayers to the Savage/Poffo family.”
Savage dabbled in acting in such roles as wrestler Bonesaw McGraw in Spider-Man (2002). He also was the voice behind “the thug” in Disney’s Bolt (2008). He also played himself on Mad About You, Baywatch and The Jeff Foxworthy Show.
