We can all take a collective sigh of relief because Rachel Crow, the fallen contestant from last season of The X Factor,has landed herself a sweet deal. Actually, two sweet deals.
We now have confirmation that Paula Abdul will not return to The X Factor next season.
“Yes, it’s true; I won’t be returning to The X Factor next season,” Abdul said in a statement. “I’ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations.

And just like that, there was a major shake up at The X Factor late Monday night with host Steve Jones and judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger rumored to not be returning to season 2 of the hit NBC show.
Simon Cowell, executive producer of The X Factor and co-owner of Syco Music, has confirmed that finalists Josh Krajcik, Chris Rene and Astro will each get a record deal with Sony Music.
Krajcik, 30, was the runner-up of the first season of The X Factor USA. Rene, 28, came in third place and Astro, 15, came in seventh place.
The X Factor USA will air its finale tonight, December 22, 2011. One of our three remaining contestants will be crowned the winner of the five million dollar recording contract and star in his, or her, very own Pepsi commercial. Continue reading
Rachel Crow did not make The X Factor semifinals because Nicole Scherzinger decided to send the vote on saving either her or Marcus Canty into Deadlock when she could have cast the final vote to save Rachel.
After the fact, Rachel’s mentor, Simon Cowell, spoke to reporters this week saying, “I think it’s quite clear that it’s down to three people now. And it’s Melanie, Josh and Chris.” Continue reading
Drew Ryniewicz was voted off of The X Factor last night after performing a controversial stripped down cover of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, sang while seated (Watch it here!).
Hey, but things are already looking up for the 14-year old singer. Her musical hero, Justin Bieber, took to Twitter to send condolences her way:
The singer does wish she could have showed viewers “that side of me that is a teenager who dances around — the fun side. I’m definitely going to do that with my album.”
She also called The X Factor “the greatest experience of my life,” adding:
“And everyone’s going to be going home, whether they’re the winner or someone else, in the next few weeks. So for me to have made it this far is an honor. For me to be on the first X Factor [in the] U.S.A. and, you know, just to be able to say that I’ve worked with Simon Cowell, and I’m best friends with Melanie and Rachel Crow.”
