VIDEO: Caitlynn Dances Without Injured Mitchell On SYTYCD

So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 performed Wednesday June 15th.

Below is the video of the Jazz routine by Caitlynn Lawson and who should have been her partner, Mitchell Kelly. Mitchell injured his elbow in rehearsals and was advised by doctors to sit this dance out (which lands him in bottom three of the men automatically.)

Caitlynn instead danced with Season 7’s Robert. The dance was choreographed by Sonya Tayeh to In For The Kill (Skream’s Let’s Go Ravey Remix) by La Roux.

Nigel Lythgoe gave her a “10” across the board. Mary Murphy told Caitlynn she has spectacular legs and was brilliant tonight.

VIDEO: Sasha & Alexander Impress But Lack Chemistry On SYTYCD

Sasha Mallory and Alexander Fost teamed up June 15 on a Contemporary routine for this season’s first night of competition on So You Think You Can Dance.

Their routine was choreographed by Travis Wall and danced to Stupid by Sarah McLachlan.

Nigel Lythgoe said he is scared of Sasha because she is like a “modern day Amazonian princess.” He asked for more emotion and passion out of Alexander. Mary Murphy called Sasha strong and dynamic and said Alexander is super strong too, but she did not feel the connection between the two.

So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 performed Wednesday June 15th.

Below is the video of the African Jazz routine by Tadd Gadduang and Jordan Casanova. It was choreographed by Sean Cheesman and danced to Riding the Waves by Afro Celt Sound System.

Nigel Lythgoe called the dance “tremendous,” Mary Murphy said Jordan was sensational and and said Tadd blew her away and emerged as a star.

VIDEO: Jess & Clarice Dance Broadway

Clarice Ordaz and Jess LeProtto teamed up June 15 on a Broadway routine for this season’s first night of competition on So You Think You Can Dance.

Their routine was choreographed by Tyce DiOrio and danced to Me and My Baby by Liza Minelli.

Nigel Lythgoe
called Clarice a beautiful dancer but said Jess is a wonderfully gifted dancer and she has to work harder to keep up with him. He told Jess he is magnificent and will be one of his fave men this year. He asked for more emotion and passion out of Alexander. Mary Murphy said it was an amazing celebration of dance. She said Alexander was perfection in everything he did and said Clarice is not in danger anytime soon.

VIDEO: Ryan & Ricky Pair Up For A Lyrical Hip Hop On SYTYCD

So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 performed Wednesday June 15th.

Below is the video of the Lyrical Hip Hop routine by Ryan Ramirez and Ricky Jaime. It was choreographed by Christopher Scott and danced to Ain’t No Sunshine by Lighthouse Family.

Nigel Lythgoe was confused by the pairs’ facial expressions but loved the dancing. He called Ryan “superb,” and said she was outstanding even though the other women are great too. He said Jess did the choreography justice. Mary Murphy said the duo stayed in character and said the two are two of the best and called the dancing “brilliant!”
