Taylor Swift’s Song “Speak Now” Debuts at #1 On iTunes

Country-pop superstar Taylor Swift released the title track to her upcoming third album, Speak Now, on iTunes on Thursday and it is already at #1 on both the All-genre Singles Chart and the Country Singles Chart after 86,000 downloads in the first few hours.

Swift has said the hit song is not about her but was inspired by one of her friends who still had feelings for her high school crush and then learned that he was getting married to someone she felt was completely wrong for him.

The full album will be released on October 25th.

Kanye West Apologizes Again To Taylor Swift

I for one say: It’s time to cut Kanye West some slack. He is on a mission lately to make amends for the whole Tayler Swift incidence at last year’s VMA’s and I think we should listen.

Kanye opened up again to XXL magazine about the incident with Taylor Swift and why he had to go into hiding after the VMA’s.

ABOUT THE INCIDENT:
“I stress that the incident wasn’t about Taylor personally. And it definitely wasn’t about race. Where I messed up is, at the end of the day, it’s your show, Taylor. It’s your show, MTV. The relationship with the public and with your fans is like the relationship with your girlfriend. How could I not, at a certain point, be like, ‘I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have been at the awards show. I’m sorry.’ Not that I don’t deserve to get beat up or change who I am inside, to make sure that that doesn’t happen again.”

ABOUT GOING INTO HIDING:
“I knew I wasn’t in a great spot publicly after the incident, but I would just block it out and work as hard as possible and let my work be my saving grace. In a way, I had thrown a Molotov cocktail at my own career, and it gave me an opportunity, for the first time, to go away and find out who I was. Because I felt very alone.”

Kanye West Goes On a Two-Hour Twitter Rant About Taylor Swift

September 14 will mark the one-year anniversary of Kanye West‘s interruption of Taylor Swift during her award acceptance at the Video Music Awards.

After some apparent self-reflection, Kanye has gone into confessional mode, using Twitter as his booth.

Ove a two-hour period today, Kanye unleashed about 100 Tweets about how the media try to “demonize” him.  As for the regular foks, Kanye Tweets: “People tweeted that they wish I was dead… No listen.  They wanted me to die people. I carry that. I smile and take pictures through that.” As for himself, Kanye Tweets: “If you Google Asshole my face may very well pop up two pages into the search.”

And then, Kanye proceeded to Tweet about Taylor Swift:  “I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that’s so beautiful and I want her to have it. If she won’t take it then I’ll perform it for her.” (Side note: I reported recently that although he has near a million followers, Kanye only follows Justin Bieber on Twitter; well, Kanye now follows two people: Justin and Taylor.)

Kanye moves on to speak about having to grow up:  “When I woke up from the crazy nightmare I looked in the mirror and said GROW UP KANYE … I take the responsibility for my actions … I am not a bad person. Even in that moment I was only trying to do good but people don’t always need my help … Beyonce didn’t need that. MTV didn’t need that and Taylor and her family friends and fans definitely didn’t want or need that.”

Kanye ends his Twitter rant simply with “I’m sorry Taylor.” That was six hours ago. We have not heard a Tweet out of Kanye since.

Here are screen shots of the entire rant! Start with last one and work your way up!
