A big thumbs up for celebrities using their name to help the world become a better place.
Take Katharine McPhee for example. To help bring back attention to a cause possibly forgotten, McPhee has teamed up with American Eagle Outfitters who in turn have entered into a partnership with Concern Worldwide US to raise funds for the rebuilding and support of schools in Haiti.
On the one-year anniversary of the Haiti earthquake on January 12, there are still “1.3 million people living in these tents,” McPhee told Mario Lopez of Extra.
Along with McPhee, celebs such as The Edge, Ryan Seacrest, Sean Paul, Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Ruffalo, & Garcelle Beauvais, just to name a few, are helping to spread the word to buy and wear a limited-edition, AE-designed “Help Haiti Heal” T-shirts.
The T-shirts are being sold in more than 900 American Eagle Outfitters stores throughout the U.S., and worldwide at www.ae.com/haiti. The T-shirts were made in Haiti, by Haitians, to mark the first anniversary of the earthquake and raise awareness about the continuing need to help Haiti heal. The entire purchase price of US $15.50 will be donated to Concern Worldwide’s education program in Haiti, with the potential to raise as much as US $1 million.
