During the event, the designer presented his latest Armani Privé haute couture collection. After the show, Julia Roberts and Cate Blanchett – who both share a close bond of friendship and respect with the designer – presented Giorgio Armani with the Outstanding Achievement Award before revealing his gift to London: a surprise performance by long-time friend Eric Clapton, who played ‘Tears In Heaven’ and ‘Layla’. Vanity Fair has dropped a bombshell in its October issue. The magazine features a story by special correspondent Maureen Orth who claims that Shelly Miscavige, wife of Scientology chief David Miscavige, was tasked with the chore of finding a suitable girlfriend / wife for Tom Cruisein 2004 after the actor’s split from his Vanilla Sky costar, Penelope Cruz. C Magazine could have hit pay dirt asking the right questions when it just happened to score an interview with Katie Holmes exactly one day before she filed for a surprising divorce from Tom Cruise.

Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes Reach Divorce Settlement, Resolve Custody Issues

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmeshave amicably reached a settlement in their divorce, a little over a week after the couple’s separation became public.

Katie’s lawyer Jonathan Wolfe told People: “The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.”

He added, “We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.”

Tom’s lawyer, Bert Fields said: “The case has been settled with a signed agreement … Tom is really pleased we got there, and so am I.”

No word yet on who gets what and how the custody of their six-year old daughter Suri will be split. Earlier in the day, the duo told JustJared ina joint statement: “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplishing what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests.” They added, “We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”

Suri Cruise, the 6-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes was frightened the first time she saw her father Tom Cruise in guyliner while he was filming his movie, “Rock of Ages”.

“When I had the eyeliner and the painted nails, [Suri] was a little taken aback by it,” Tom told Ryan Seacrest on his 102.7 KIIS-FM radio show Monday. “She was like, ‘What’s happening to my dad?’” Continue reading →
