Confirmed! Ashton Kutcher To Replace Charlie Sheen On Two & A Half Men – How Much Will He Get Paid?

This is surprising news, at least to me. Months and months of speculation surrounded the replacement of Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men, but one name that I never heard actually made the final cut.

CBS and Warner Bros. Television confirmed on Friday that Ashton Kutcher has been selected to play the sought-after role moving forward on the CBS hit comedy.

Kutcher said in a press conference: “I can’t wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented 2.5 team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in viewers’ homes. I can’t replace Charlie Sheen but I’m going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!”

“We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family,” said Chuck Lorre, the show’s creator and Executive Producer. He continued, “Added to that is the deep sigh of relief knowing that our family stays together. If I was any happier, it’d be illegal.”

Per TMZ, Kutcher will be bringing home between $625,000 – $900,000 per episode. Sheen was getting paid $1.25 million an episode.

Kutcher had a bit of fun on Twitter before CBS and Warner Bros. Television made the official announcement Friday. He sent this message via Twitter: “What’s the square root of 6.25?” I am not a math genius, but I do believe the answer may be 2.5.

Congrats Ashton. I will be looking forward to watching your beautiful face on TV from now on and on a weekly basis!

TMZ reports that Angus T. Jones, the 16-year old who plays Charlie Sheen’s nephew Jake Harper on Two and a Half Men will be making $300,000 per episode for the next two years!

Per TMZ, Jones signed a 26-episode deal on May 12, 2010 which means the half-man will make $7.8 million over the next two seasons. Oh, plus a $500,000 signing bonus.

Around the same time, Charlie Sheen also signed a contract worth $2 million an episode which equals $52 mil over the next two seasons.

Charlie Sheen Is Coming Back To Two & A Half Men? Anyone Jumping For Joy?

Poll time – who watches Two and a Half Men? The show which also stars Jon Cryer, is supposedly a key part of CBS’ Monday night lineup. So much so, that last year, the network gave the show a three-year renewal, through the 2011-12 season. So, CBS is now elated that the main star of the show, Charlie Sheen, has agreed to come back for at least another season. This leaves me extremely confused because all I know about this show is that every time a commercial for this show comes on TV, someone in the room I am in inevitably asks, “Does anyone even watch this stupid show?” When amazing shows such as Lost get a much shorter life span than a show no one I know watches, I just want to scream. Considering CBS studios is located across the street, maybe the right people would hear me. Cancel this show already.
