During last night’s The Men Tell All, Chris Harrison treated us to a full length preview of this summer’s biggest train wreck, The Bachelor Pad 2.

OH THE DRAMA!

We see Jake Pavelka going at his ex, Vienna Girardi; Kasey Kahl calling his new girlfriend Vienna a fame whore; Michael Stagliano shown in tears and in pain over his breakup with fiance Holly Durst who is hooking up with another in the house; and Gia Allemand having multiple breakdowns. And that was just in the first minute of this extended preview.

OOH–I just can’t wait!

VIDEO: Bachelor Pad Preview: Jake & Vienna Duke It Out Again

I was shocked when I watched a preview for ABC’s upcoming Bachelor Pad because I know Jake Pavelka and he has always spoken well of his ex, Vienna Girardi to me. But what I saw on the video was 180 degrees different than what I have witnessed in life.

Something must have gone really wrong in the house because when Bachelor Pad returns August 8, Jake and Vienna seem to be at each other’s throats again.

Maybe it’s returning to the same place where the two aired their ugly breakup on national TV.

Or maybe it’s the  $250,000 prize on the line. Or perhaps it’s having Girardi’s current beau, Bachelorette star Kasey Kahl, live in the house as the ex-lovers. Whatever the cause, these two have hit the roof again.

So much so that Jake is heard saying, “I hope she falls 3,000 feet to her death.” WHO SAYS THAT?! Jake continues, “She’s trying to hurt me so she can get the money.” He warns, “It will not happen!”
Vienna returns the favor: “I hate him!”

Don’t you love relationships gone sour?

One of my summertime guilty pleasures, Bachelor Pad 2, returns to ABC August 8. The Bachelor and Bachelorette spinoff will pit castoffs from one of those shows against each other for a second (or even third) chance at love and/or a $250,000 cash prize.

Bachelor Pad 2 will bring together a vivacious mix of current and former lovers, past villains (Justin Rego, the double-timing wrestler who ran away from a raging Ali Fedotowsky), and an infamous seductress (Michelle Money, the Womack-worshipper). But the event to watch will be the love-triangle interactions between ex-couple Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi, Bachelor winner and his fiancee of a few months, and Kasey Kahl, Vienna’s new boyfriend who will also be in the house.

Now, you ask, why would two people who have such loathing for each other agree to live together again after an ugly televised break up? That is the exact question posed to host Chris Harrison by Channel Guide Mag and this is what Harrison had to say:

“I am always unbelievably surprised when [contestants] come back, but I think it is the nature of these people. It kind of feeds the beast and feeds their insatiable appetite to be in the limelight, to continue their 15 minutes of fame. But the thing is, too, it really is fun.”

Just Announced: ABC’s Bachelor Pad 2 Cast

My and possibly your summer guilty pleasure is almost here! That’s right, Bachelor Pad 2 will premiere on ABC August 8 and it promises to be an even bigger of a hot mess than its first season thanks to the intricate relationships between so many of its contestants this time.

ABC has just released the official cast to EW.com and some fan favorites (those we love and those we love to hate) and three “Mystery Men” from the current season of The Bachelorette made the final cut.

Here is the list:

The Ladies: 
1. GIA ALLEMAND – The Bachelor Season 14, Jake Pavelka. Gia was on Bachelor Pad 1 and hooked up with Wes but there’s a rumor that Vienna Girardi came between the two love birds. Gia and Jake are now good friends so, this should be really interesting since Vienna and her new beau Kasey Kahl will also be on the show. AWKWARD!

So, there you have it. My guess is that Bentley Williams will be one of the so-called Mystery Men. Bachelor Pad will be hosted by Chris Harrison (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette). The contestants will compete for $250,000 and a second chance at love.

Each week the contestants will square off in head-to-head challenges for a chance to go on a date with contestants of their choice. The winner of each challenge will then grant immunity to one of his or her dates. At the end of each episode, the contestants will vote amongst themselves and the men will vote off a woman and vice versa.

Jake Pavelka Rebounds Without Vienna Girardi

CELEBRITY ENCOUNTER.

  Although I wish Vienna Girardi well and was saddened to hear how unhappy she was in her relationship with Jake Pavelka, I am all about Team Jake. When it comes to their very public and gut-wrenching breakup, I don’t care who is telling the truth, who is lying and who did what to whom. All relationships have issues and problems and nothing is ever a one-way street. And none of what happened between those two is any of my business – and so, I won’t write about it.

All I know is that Jake Pavelka has always been nice to and extremely open with me whenever I have seen him around town and I don’t have one negative thing to say about him. So I feel the urge to help clean up his image a bit. I also want to defend him against the accusation that he is a “fame whore.”  I see that everywhere and it is just not a fair assessment.

I ran into Jake the day the news about his breakup with Vienna first hit the stands and I found Jake hiding from Paparazzi. Call me crazy, but I would think “fame whores” would run to instead of hide from cameras.  I actually helped Jake calm down by telling him, mistakenly I learned later, that the Paparazzi were not there for him but instead for Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens who happened to also be around our vicinity at the time. I was wrong as I saw a picture of Jake from the same time period  in the tabloids later that same day.

When someone nearby asked him that day “Who are you that the Paparazzi thinks so much of you?” Jake simply answered, ” I am nobody. I was on a reality show. That’s all.” Those words would not come from the mouth of someone who is “smug,” “arrogant,” and “publicity hungry;” some other false adjectives I have read describe Jake.

Anyway, what’s the big deal about wanting to be famous or on TV if that is what Jake wants to be/do?? How many of us would turn down an opportunity to act on TV or make TV appearances? I can safely say no one I know in LA would avoid such chances, including myself. So, why can’t Jake pursue such activities – let’s give the guy a well-deserved break and stop all the judgment.

I ran into Jake again today as he was rushing to get to Dodger Stadium. It was the first time I have seen him since the airing of the ABC special where he and Vienna went about 12 rounds throwing mud at each other. Jake flashed me a smile as he ran by and asked me how I have been doing since we last met. I said unbelievingly, “How am I doing? Are you kidding me Jake? How the heck are you doing?”  He just smiled back. I think he looks like he is doing great considering his world came crashing down not too long ago.

Jake was in a rush because he was on his way to Dodger Stadium where he threw the first pitch at tonight’s game  between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Florida Marlins.

Jake is also flying again and he Tweeted this picture yesterday. Jake surely looks great in any uniform, whether it be a Dodger jersey or his pilot attire.

Next up for Jake is an appearance on The Bachelor Pad set to premier on ABC August 5. I don’t know if I will be watching since the little faith I had left in The Bachelor series went out the window with this break up. The fact that another Bachelorette couple, Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski called it quits today doesn’t help either. [UPDATE: After meeting the cast of The Bachelor Pad at their Red Carpet Event, I changed my mind. The cast has me all excited about this show and I can’ wait to tune in.] Jake will also be on the August 22nd episode of Drop Dead Diva. Here is a sneak peak of that episode:

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE CELEB MAGNET.

  Yesterday I took the day off from blogging to spend time at Universal Studios with visiting out-of-town friends.  But no day seems to be without a celebrity sighting these days. Before I left for Universal, my morning started with me running smack into Ray Lewis of the Baltimore Ravens while I was taking my dog for her morning walk. Not sure what he is doing in LA; he was on his cell, but still managed to throw a huge smile my way and say “hello.” I have to say ladies, he is one fine looking man in person.  Seconds later, I ran into a sad Jake Pavelka who was trying to dodge pesty paparazzi that were trying to take pictures of him on the day a nasty gossip story about him was sold to Star Magazine by his ex-fiance, Vienna Girardi.

I won’t tell you what Jake told me about the situation; but I will say that I felt horrible for him and gave him one big huge hug to make him feel better 😉 Don’t hate. But, we should all be so lucky that when our relationships end as they oft do, our ex’s won’t sell nasty lies to a tabloid for $50,000. Yup, that’s what Vienna did.

So, after all this excitement and hoopla, unto Universal Studios I finally went at 12 noon. This week has been filled with lots of accidents in the celebrity world, and the self-made Celeb Magnet was not spared from the mayhem.

First, Katy Perry suffered a mysterious injury at the MuchMusic Awards, requiring 17 stitches. Then, Lady Gaga took a tumble at Heathrow Airport when strutting on the non-fashion runway on her ridiculously high platform boots.

Then, there was I, the ever-injured Celeb Magnet. I was brutally attacked by a huge, bulgy-eyed, gappy-toothed, scary-looking yellow square cheesy-looking monster, better known by some as SpongeBob SquarePants. I ran into SpongeBob at Universal Studios and he, she, it (?), asked me to give him, her, it a hug. And when I did, he poked me. Right in the eye. With his protruding nose. Oh boy. Only me. Can I sue Universal? Or better yet, can I sell my story to Star Magazine? Here is my proof below. Click on the pic to see my agony in its full glory. Jake Pavelka Speaks About His Future Plans And How Twitter Sold Him Out in Hawaii

  The other day, my friend and I were having a quiet lunch at Chipotle at The Grove when I noticed a cute blonde guy sitting by himself at the next table. At closer look, I noticed it was Jake Pavelka of The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars! Jake remembered me from our random previous meetings so he became extremely talkative. Vienna Girardi (the girl he picked on The Bachelor and who is now his fiance) was out of town, and I guess he was only too happy to have two new sets of ears in her absence 🙂
He told us he is looking to buy a home in Los Angeles for him and Vienna but will also keep the home they share in Dallas to be able to get away from the craziness of LA whenever they need to. Apparently Vienna isn’t too fond of LA yet. Jake said he is going to continue with his real job, piloting planes, and he can do that from anywhere even though he is based out of Georgia. 
Funny story he shared with us: He still doesn’t get that he is famous! He and Vienna were recently vacationing in Hawaii and made the mistake of saying on Twitter where they were staying. Jake says, “I wanted my family and friends to know.” Guess Jake forgot about the Paparazzi who are following him on Twitter. Next thing you know, the Paparazzi were swarming them. So Jake just walked up to one and said, “Here we are, go at it.” After he told this story, Jake asked me, “So, what do you do for a living?” “Oh Jake. I am a celebrity blogger.” He chuckled but didn’t flinch. I promised him I would not write about any of the sensitive stuff he had already shared, and I keep my word; my lips are sealed!
Ladies – in case you are wondering: Jake is even cuter in person. He is also extremely friendly–must be that Dallas charm; he is quite the gentleman. Read this to find out what Vienna had to say about him last time I met her. By the way, the picture here is from a previous meeting between Jake and me. Can You Really Find True Love on TV?!

[Update: This is a post I wrote in April. Click here for another post I wrote about an encounter with this couple earlier in June, just two weeks before their public breakup. Amazing how things change so quickly in the game of “love.”]  

If you ask Vienna Girardi, the answer is a resounding, “YES!” Contrary to everything you have read elsewhere, Vienna and Jake Pavelka, ABC’s most recent hookup on The Bachelor, are madly in love. STILL. I have seen them all around town being as lovey dovey as any other couple meeting in conventional ways. Vienna herself is sweet as pie in person, so, you can’t believe all the mean things you have read about her on other sites. Vienna told me that Jake is extremely adventurous and is taking her to Vienna, Austria this summer just because she is named after that famous city. When I told Vienna how cute a couple I found them to be, she pointed to Jake and emphatically said, “He is the real deal. He made me believe in love again.” AW! I am sure Jake has made many other viewers of The Bachelor believe in love all over again as well. Way to go Jake and Vienna.
