Justin Timberlake Delivers On Promise & Attends Marine Corps. Ball

As if Justin Timberlake wasn’t already cool enough, he won some extra swagger points over the weekend when he delivered on his promise to accompany Cpl. Kelsey DeSantis to The Basic School Instructor Battalion 236th Marine Corps Birthday Ball in Richmond, Virginia.

DeSantis, the only female Marine based at Quantico, VA, had asked the actor to the ball back in July via YouTube. The video caught JT’s attention, and he accepted. But we all wondered if he’d actually go through with it. Well, he did. And he had the time of his life.

Timberlake had so much fun at the ball in fact that he blogged to his “family, friends and fans”: “I knew I would have an evening that I wouldn’t forget…Something I could tell my friends about.” Timberlake added, “What I didn’t know was how moved I would be by the whole experience.”
Saying the night was “one of the most moving evenings I’ve ever had,” Timberlake wrote, “I felt so proud to be there. I felt like I was getting a chance to be among my heroes. It’s funny too because a lot of them are SO younger than me.”

During the night’s festivities, Timberlake and the other ball attendees watched a special video about Pearl Harbor, World War II and the September 11 terrorist attacks which left JT writing, “It was a surreal moment to be in that room with so many of our great Marines who have such a different type of connection to those stories.”

Timberlake concluded, “To all of you that serve every day for us…Ensuring our freedom, I say: My deepest gratitude to you. I’ve met so many of my heroes… From Michael Jordan to Michael Jackson. And, nothing makes me feel more honor and pride than when I get to meet one of you. Last night changed my life and I will never forget it.

“Thank you Corporal Kelsey DeSantis. Thank you for inviting me. And, thank you for being my hero.”

La Toya Jackson Wants MSNBC To Pull The Plug On The Conrad Murray Documentary

Fully understanding their First Amendment right to air almost anything they want, La Toya Jackson is chastising MSNBC nonetheless for planning to air a documentary on Conrad Murray, the doctor who was just convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of her brother, Michael Jackson.

“I feel it morally reprehensible to cloak a murderer and convicted felon with celebrity status, which the airing of Dr. Murray’s views will undoubtedly accomplish,” La Toya wrote in a letter to MSNBC president Phil Griffin.

She continued, “This becomes even more egregious since Michael is sadly and obviously unable to defend himself against whatever allegations may be made.”

“I understand that legally MSNBC is protected by the first amendment. I ask at the very least MSNBC permit my family to view the tape amongst ourselves in advance of its airing to the public.” La Toya then pleads with the MSNBC president, “Mr. Griffin, take a moment to put yourself in our shoes and appreciate our suffering for the past two years.”

Sounds like a fair request to me. But, as of right now, MSNBC is planning to air the documentary, Michael Jackson and the Doctor: A Fatal Friendship, Friday and Monday.

Ashton Kutcher Quits Twitter After Being Attacked By An Angry Twitter Mob

A humbled and apologetic Ashton Kutcher is quitting Twitter for good after he got blasted by a firestorm of responses for tweeting one message too many without knowing what he was talking about.

Ashton, not being informed about the Penn State scandal tweeted, “This is an insane story, I just heard paterno was fired, getting the rest of the story now…” Unfortunately for Ashton, he followed that with, “How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste.”

Well, as soon as he typed those words, he got hit with a plethora of angry Tweets which called him all kinds of names for not knowing what he is talking about. You can read some of the tweets below and Ashton’s response to each.
Kutcher explained later that he had simply read a headline on TV that Paterno had been fired. Without knowing any details, he sent the two tweets. He didn’t become aware of the circumstances surrounding the Penn State former head coach’s firing and the Jerry Sandusky child molestation case that served as a catalyst for the dismissal until a short time later. And it was too late to prevent a Twitter mob attack.
Ashton later apologized after getting the full story on Penn State and has now handed his Twitter account over to his management. Early on Nov. 10,  Ashton tweeted, “As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case. As of immediately I will stop tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed. I feel awful about this error. Won’t happen again.”
Ashton later blogged: “Up until today I have posted virtually everyone of my tweets on my own, but clearly the platform has become too big to be managed by a single individual…I feel responsible for delivering an informed opinion and not spreading gossip or rumors through my Twitter feed.”
Ashton continued, “While I feel that running this feed myself gives me a closer relationship to my friends and fans, I’ve come to realize that it has grown into more [than] a fun tool to communicate with people.”
Ashton apologized again, saying that he’s “truly sorry if I offended anyone.” He said Katalyst Media will now manage his account “to ensure the quality of its content.”
Here are Ashton’s responses to some of the Tweets that resulted in his becoming a Twitter quitter (Ashton’s responses in bold):

U r right, I need 2b more responsible 4 my voice @kaykaymour: maybe you should use your brain & get the facts b4 u tweet like an idiot.”

there is truth in that, I make mistakes @timothyfurey: @aplusk you’re an idiot”

I’ll own that @Dustin_Scott: Bad attempt at trying to save it.. You’re still an asshole RT Had no idea, thought it was a football thing.”
true f me @NikkiLynette: #FuckYouAshtonKutcher for Tweeting your opinion to 8 million people before u had your facts straight.”

honestly it’s me @RightGirl: Who is more ignorant? @Aplusk, or the over EIGHT MILLION idiots who follow him?”

agreed @tommiesunshine: @aplusk with 8 million followers, you MAY want to reserve your opinions until you know the whole story.”

Piers Morgan Quits America’s Got Talent To Focus On CNN

America might have talent but it has to find it without judge Piers Morgan moving forward.

“I’m leaving America’s Got Talent after 6 wonderful years,” Morgan Tweeted last night, continuing, “Turned out that juggling’s harder than it looks, so I’m going to focus on CNN.”

Morgan then thanked “NBC, Fremantle, and of course, my friend Simon Cowell, for giving me such a great opportunity. It’s been a blast.”

There’s been no word yet on who will replace Piers on the AGT judges’ panel.
