Chynna Phillips & Tony Dovolani: “DWTS Is A Popularity Contest”

On the day of her elimination from Dancing with the Stars, but before she knew she would be voted off the show, singer Chynna Phillips said some clairvoyant words to the Huffington Post:

“It really does come down to the votes. And that’s kind of sad because it’s supposed to be a dance competition, but it’s actually a popularity contest, which makes me kind of sad. You know, you have to have a little bit of faith that there are people out there who are truly voting for their favorite dance, not their favorite person, because it is a dance competition and people are working really hard. It would be very sad if that was undermined, and it looks to me like that keeps getting undermined.”

Chynna’s DWTS partner, Tony Dovolani, couldn’t agree more. For once, he had a partner talented enough whom he could take all the way to the end –the duo had placed near the top of the leader board for the first three weeks of competition. This is what Tony said before the elimination results:

“It’s something that scares all of us [pros], especially the years when you might feel like you have a contender. In this particular case, I really feel like I have a chance to make it to the end. I’ve been on the show for 12 seasons, and Chynna has been a breath of fresh air for me. As much pull we have as teachers, in the end, it’s all about the celebrity…”

The video was produced by The Lifeline Program, a life insurance company looking to “redefine the golden years and retirement for seniors and baby boomers.” HEELARIOUS!

Demi Lovato: “Be Careful Who You Trust”

Former Disney star Demi Lovato is making a huge comeback. She has a top 10 song on her hands and will start touring in November.

More importantly, Demi seems to have matured and gained many important life lessons along the way during her troubled times last year.

“Be careful who you trust,” she tells Parade mag, adding that the best way to deal with the negative side to fame is “to keep your chin up and stay strong and turn the other cheek. Kill ’em with kindness.”

On her first Top 10 Billboard hit, Skyscraper:
“When I perform that song, I just try to recall of all the emotions that I felt when I first recorded it, which is a lot. I recorded it during a time in my life when I was going through a lot.”

On her plans for the future:
“Over the next year, I just want to continue to tour and have fun with music. Acting will come second. Music is my number one passion and I want to stick to music for a while.”

American Idol Champ Scotty McCreary Debuts At #1

American Idol winner Scotty McCreery‘s debut album, Clear as Day, sold 197,000 copies in its first week–placing it atop the Billboard Top 200 chart.

Congratulations Scotty!

“My head is just spinning,” Scotty says.

He continued, “It started out kind of low: They said 100,000 maybe. Then every day I saw the numbers climbing. It’s wild: It wasn’t a year ago that I was a normal cat, and now I’m number one on Billboard. It’s insane, it really is.”

The only other Idol winner to debut at number one was Ruben Studdard who accomplished the feat in 2003.

SPOTTED: Julia Roberts at the Red Carpet Premiere of her latest movie, Fireflies in the Garden, held October 12, 2011 at The Grove in Los Angeles.

Roberts recently told Extra about her co-star Ryan Reynolds: “He’s so great. He is such a full-blown actor in this movie.”

Julia was there with husband, Daniel Moder. The two were seen leaving the premiere early and heading to dinner at Morel’s restaurant. I spotted the couple walking side by side and wanted to take my first-ever pics of my all-time favorite actress but Daniel insisted that I not take more photos after I snapped the one posted below so as to “avoid creating a spectacle” around his wife. I obliged out of courtesy and fear even though I was part of registered media at a public event and had every right to take photos. After all, the couple was there to promote Julia’s movie, right?!

So, sorry guys and gals, this is all you get of the lovely couple! It’s the worst quality photo I may have ever snapped, but it’s a funny pic that’s worth a 1000 words, so, here you go. What’s the full story you ask? I won’t trash any celebs on my site. But I always get asked who is the least friendly celebrity you have ever photographed and I never have had a good answer until now because every celeb I have ever met or shot pics of has been so nice to me…..Admittedly, and sadly, this incident certainly has left a different and bitter taste in my mouth.

Miranda Kerr Loves Being A Mommy

Orlando Bloom‘s sexier half, Miranda Kerr, graces the cover of the latest issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia.  Here are some excerpts from the interview:

On what makes Miranda happy: 
“I’d say what makes me happy is having this little man [her baby]. I’m the happiest when I’m surrounded by those I love and we are in a natural environment … It’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Oh how motherhood changed her: 
“Becoming a mother puts everything into perspective. You become more comfortable in your own skin.”

On possibly trying to become an actress:
“If someone approached me and it sounded interesting, I wouldn’t be opposed to it, but it’s not something I think about.”

Big Bang Theory 5 Nights A Week!

In episode 1 of season 2 of The Big Bang Theory, Leonard and Penny go on their first date. Both people feel insecure about the date and unbeknownst to them both, each of them has feelings for the other person.

When Leonard learns of Penny’s insecurity about her intelligence, he gives her brochures to a local community college and tells her he is fine dating a girl who isn’t smart. Penny abruptly slams the door in his face.

In your opinion, What are the top 3 things that a man should never say to a women? Would any of these be a deal breaker? 
For me, the number one thing that men should never tell another woman is their ex’s. Men should never compare their ex to another woman. A reference here and there may be OK, but a man who constantly talks about his ex would be a deal breaker for me!
Also, men should lay off the weight subject. They should never tell a woman she needs to lose weight or start working out. That’s just tacky. We know what we weigh!
Lastly, a man should never talk about fighting. I don’t want to know about your latest bar brawl. If you fight men and are proud of it, keep your mouth shut! And yes, that would be a deal breaker!

Survivor South Pacific 10/12 Recap

Survivor South Pacific October 12, 2011 castoff spoiler results and recap for episode #5 are below:

The Redemption Island Duel:

Stacey and Christine duel it out on Redemption Island in some sort of ball trapping challenge which involves spacing and concentration. Christine wins for the third time and Stacey is sent home.

The Immunity Challenge:
Each tribe had to rip apart a roasted pig on a stick with their teeth only and spit the meat out in a bucket. The team who filled the bucket more than the other would win. Savaii filled 22 lbs and 12 ounces but Upolu wins getting only two more ounces. The winner also got to keep the meat they collected plus some other food items.

The Castoff (Who Was Voted Off):
Fifth person voted out was Elyse. It came down to a 3-way tie between her, Cochran and Dawn but in the end, Elyse was sent to Redemption Island.

FIRST LOOK: The Bachelor’s Ben Flajnik, ‘A Rare, Modern Renaissance Man’?

Ben Flajnik, the runner-up yearning for Ashley Hebert’s heart on The Bachelorette, is in search of a new love on the upcoming season of ABC’s The Bachelor. ABC has just released this promo photo of the 28-year-old Napa vineyard owner, shot in his obvious comfort zone.

ABC describes Flajnik as “a rare, modern Renaissance man.” I don’t know what that means, but maybe we will all find out when the show premieres January 2.

Or maybe this statement by ABC explains what they mean: “Ben dabbles in a lot of hobbies and crafts, such as crab fishing, sailing, golf, skate boarding, surfing, playing piano and singing in a tribute band.”

“He is also quite handy with a hammer and saw, and loves fixing and building things, as well as landscaping. The woman who will share his life will also have to share one of his other great loves: his Jack Russell Terrier, Scotch.”
