SPOTTED: Pia Toscano With Rising Artist, Talina

SPOTTED: Pia Toscano performing with Talina at New York City’s 67th Annual Columbus Day Parade October 10, 2011.

Talina, diagnosed with autism at the age of two, has found the “ability” in “disability.”  She is striving to become a pop star and, in the process, break all stereotypes of what a child with a disability can accomplish.

For the parade, NY’s Fifth Avenue was transformed during the parade, the world’s largest celebration of Italian-American culture.

The parade featured 35,000 marchers, over 100 groups, including bands, floats and contingents, and nearly one million spectators.

PHOTOS: Zooey Deschanel Shows Off Her Chicken Dance

Actress and singer Zooey Deschanel stopped by The Grove for a chat with Mario Lopez of Extra about her new hit FOX show, New Girl, and becoming a new aunt. She also taught Lopez how to do her version of the chicken dance.

Deschanel said her dorky adorable New Girl character, Jess, is a little like she is in real life. “I think she’s the 13-year-old me,” she laughed. “I’m not mature at all. I’m more like 15.”

Zooey could not stop gushing about her new nephew, the son of sister, Bones actress Emily Deschanel: “He’s so cute. He’s 2 weeks old, doesn’t do much yet. He touches his face a lot. Hey, he didn’t know he had a face! I’d touch my face a lot if I just found out I had a face two weeks ago!”

As for her singing career, Zooey said her folk duo She & Him will release a Christmas album in October. “I know it’s early, but it’s to get people ready for the holidays.

Michael Jackson Forever Tribute Rocks Out With Christina Aguilera And Jamie Foxx

The Michael Jackson Forever Tribute Concert kicked off Saturday to celebrate the life of the King of Pop.  Katherine, La Toya, Tito, Marlon and Jackie Jackson were in attendance as well as all three of Jackson’s children, Prince, Paris and Michael Joseph Jr. (Blanket).

Janet, Jermaine and Randy Jackson were absent because they were against holding the concert during the same time as Dr. Conrad Murray’s manslaughter trial.

Randy and Jermaine Tweeted: “While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael’s death.”

The Black Eyed Peas dropped out last minute and Jennifer Hudson did not make it, but Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx,  Leona Davis, Beyonce (via video), Christina Aguilera, and Cee Lo Green all performed. Fox sang MJ’s Billie Jean and Lady in My LifeLewis performed Stranger in Moscow with ballerinas dancing in the background. Beyonce sang I Wanna Be Where You Are, via video.

Aguilera belted Smile and Dirty Diana and Green gave a soulful rendition of I Can’t Help it and You Can’t Win.

Also performing were Smokey Robinson, Alien Ant Farm, Craig Davis, Gladys Knight, Pixie Lott, 3T (Jackson’s nephews), Yolanda Adams and Alexandra Burke who all sang some of MJ’s biggest hits. Foxx joined SLS and The Jacksons to perform Rock With You and Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough. Jackson’s children danced on stage during the show’s finale, Don’t Stop.

Jennifer Hudson Tweeted about her absence: “To my u.k. fans that were coming to the mj show in wales, I will no longer be attending due to major production issues. I would have thought they would have informed you all by now, so since they did not, I am. Thank u for your support.”

Paul McCartney Marries Nancy Shevell

Fox Renews The Simpsons For Two More Years!

The longest-running prime time comedy in TV history, The Simpsons, just got renewed for at least two more years, making the 2013-2014 season its 25th year in production.

WOO HOO!

Fox made the announcement after a lengthy negotiations stalemate ended with its six principle voice actors who agreed to have their salaries cut by about a third, rather than the 45 percent that 20th Century Fox TV had requested they accept to keep the show going. So, now, instead of their current $440,000 per episode, they will each receive $300,000 per episode for the next two seasons.

Sounds like a win-win-win for the network, the actors and all die-hard Simpsons fans.

Sex and the City’s Kristin Davis Adopts a Baby Girl!

The little one’s name?  Gemma Rose Davis. The 46-year-old elated mom said, “This is something I have wanted for a very long time. Having this wish come true is even more gratifying than I ever had imagined. I feel so blessed.”

In 2008, she told Healthmagazine: “I would love to adopt. And I would still like to find a man and have a baby with him.” She added, “I haven’t given up.”
In 2010 she told Access Hollywood: “You have to obviously think it through,” she shared. “Best case scenario, you’re obviously raising it with a father. It does give me pause to think about doing it alone. I feel like it’s a really hard job.”

Congrats to the happy family!

Kelly Rowland Gets Candid In Cosmo UK

The former Destiny’s Child diva, Kelly Rowland, graces the cover of the November Issue of Cosmo UK and dishes about a whole host of things — A broken engagement, her affinity for British dudes, her breast implant, and not seeing her dad in 20 years.

The star looks incredibly lean and toned, in a racy red bra, black leather shorts and a cropped jacket.

Here are excerpts from the interview:
On calling off her 2005 wedding to Dallas Cowboys’ Roy Williams:
“I was too young for marriage. I remember my sister asked me one question: She said, ‘Well, you know what you want now, don’t you?’ and I was like ‘Yes’. It was so hard and embarrassing because everyone knew. I’d posed for the front cover of a magazine in my wedding dress and it was on sale! But sometimes you fall down and you learn from it.”

On getting breast implants:
“I just had little nuggets for boobs and it was bothering me. The decision was 10 years in the making so I’m comfortable talking about it. It’s something I really wanted to do for myself – not for a man, not for work, for myself… and I love them.”

On her estranged father:

“He reached out to me saying he wanted to see me, but it’s unfortunate he did it so publicly. I want to meet him, and soon, I really do. I forgave him a long time ago. I haven’t seen my dad for almost 20 years. It’s nothing I want a pity party for. He left me and my mum, and I was angry. I wanted to be a daddy’s girl so bad.”
