VIDEO: Josh Krajcik Fools Us All At Last On The X Factor

OK — You got us X Factor, you got us. When scruffy-looking Josh Krajcik came on the September 28, 2011 episode of the show, we were like, OK, we get it, this self-proclaimed burrito slinger guy is gonna stink it up. Real bad. The more his mom insisted the guy is the next best singer since Elvis, the more we anticipated a total bomb. Man, was the joke on us.
Just when we thought we know it all, The X Factor pulled the ol’ switcheroo on us, because the second the 30-year old crooner from Columbus Ohio opened his mouth, some of us got goosebumps. The rest of us got chills. Why? Because on his rendition of At Last came out some kind of unexpected and gritty Joe Cocker meets Bob Seger rolled into a soulful Etta James.

On his way to the next round, Simon Cowell told him, “I’ve gotta say, Josh. I always thought after a few auditions over the years I wouldn’t be surprised again. And then you started singing and it just blew me away.” He also said he likes him because, “You are honest. You didn’t come out here with any gimmicks. Good for you.”

L.A. Reid informed him, “You need to give the slinging-burritos job to somebody else.” Then he called him out: “I get why you’re dressed like that. You aren’t foolin’ me for a second. This is your ‘before,’ because the ‘after’s’ gonna be … you’re too good, you are way too good.”

Paula Abdul added: “There are just certain voices that the second you open your mouth to sing, it gets in our skin. What a treat.”

VIDEO CLIP OF THE DAY: J Mark Invades Planet Paula On The X Factor

VIDEO CLIP OF THE DAY.

Did you catch the oddest contestant we will probably see make it through the next round on The X Factor Wednesday night?

I am talking about J. Mark Inman, the 31-year-old philosophy student who auditioned in Chicago (September 28, 2011) and compared his life to “the algorithm for pi” right after he said “J+Mark+X+Factor= $5Million.”

J. Mark performed his own whacked out take on Radiohead’s Creep. Yet, as bizarre and bad as he was, he was enthusiastically pushed through to the next round as if he had hypnotized and mesmerized the judges.
Backed by a stuttering electronic track of the Radiohead song which of course he made himself, J Mark looked really out of place on the big X Factor stage. Then, the music began and he looked even more misplaced. But his voice didn’t start. At first. He just slithered across stage in some kind of weird hip hop moves and it, I am afraid to admit, worked. Then he started singing. And I couldn’t tell if I loved him or was scared of him. Or, possibly even both?!
As the song ended with the lyrics, “I don’t belong here…,” Paula Abdul and the audience gave him a standing ovation. Paula of course understood and got him because as Simon Cowell said, “he is from Planet Paula.” She said, “You don’t belong here. You’re other worldly. You are in another jurisdiction, fooor suuure. I think I have visited there once or twice in my life. Oh the places we could go together.”
Said L.A. Reid: “It sounded so bad, but felt so goooood.” Inman was sent through to the next round, and he seemed as shocked as anyone, espeically a wicked-smiled Simon.

VIDEO: Brock & McKenna Sollinger Heat Things Up With ‘Colder Weather’ On The X Factor

The September 28, 2011 episode of The X Factor started hot in the cold rainy Chicago auditions.

First up were Brock and McKenna Sollinger who have been singing together for four years. McKenna calls the duo “best friends.” Brock, on the other hand, is madly in love with her and has not told her yet.

Well, not until she watches tonight’s episode. Man, I wish I could see McKenna’s face as she learns…

The duo received a standing ovation from the audience singing Colder Weather by The Zac Brown Band. The judges followed by giving the pair four votes to advance.

L.A. Reid: “You just made my day, I really enjoyed you.”
Cheryl Cole: “Your harmonies were spot on and your vocals so controlled.”
Paula Abdul: “I think your vocal blend is lovely.”
Simon Cowell: “Your voice is sensational.”

Survivor 9/28: Who Was Voted Off & Eliminated

Survivor South Pacific episode aired its third episode Reap What You Sow on September 28, 2011. Look below for a recap of the show and spoiler results of who was voted off and eliminated tonight from either team Savaii or team Upolu.

Semhar and Christine battled it out in the first Redemption Island duel.

Ozzy and Coach locked in an epic battle for tonight’s challenge while Brandon kept trying to hide his identity from the tribe until all is revealed tonight. Come back for all the spoilers!

DUEL UPDATE: Tree mail arrives telling the castaways that each tribe can choose two people each to watch the duel on Redemption Island. Coach and Stacey go for Upolo and Ozzy and Elyse for Savaii. The duel consists of an endurance competition with each person holding on to a pole while balancing a totem statue. Semhar lost her grip and Christine wins, waiting for her next opponent. Semhar was eliminated.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE UPDATE
: For this challenge, one person from each tribe had to race in water to fetch a bag, the rest of the tribe had to turn a big wheel which brought the tribe member in the water back to the beach. They then had to retrieve five banners the first team to have them all down was the winner. Opolu won the immunity challenge. They also won some rewards: Luxury food items.

VOTING UPDATE: At Savaii the consensus seems to be to vote out either Papa Bear (Mark) or Cochran. They tell Papa Bear that Cochran will be voted out but he does not believe it. He runs to the beach digging for the Idol until Elyse catches him and Papa Bear pretends that he found it as a strategy to keep himself safe. BUT Ozzy is laughing at the whole situation because he actually did find the Idol to no one’s knowledge.

Third person voted out of Survivor South Pacific, Papa Bear.

Elisabetta Canalis: “Maybe Dance Isn’t My Thing”

Elisabetta Canalis became the second contestant voted off of Dancing with the Stars yesterday but she wasn’t surprised by the results.

“Maybe dance isn’t my thing. I’m not going to lie,” the Italian actress and best known in the US as George Clooney’s ex told People mag after being eliminated Tuesday night.

“This show was challenging for me because I had to learn how to ballroom dance.”

“I’ve never done it before. I hope to have learned something.”

Val Chmerkovskiy, Elisabetta’s dance partner said, “They are a lot of challenges for everybody. There were huge challenges for her. We’re a proud nation.”

Val pointed to our unfamiliarity with Elisabetta and Val who was new to DWTS as the reason for the couple’s early departure. “We’re a welcoming nation, but [Americans] have our idols and our own fan base. This show is about people and fans. We can’t compete with that.”

“Yesterday, we did [well],” he said. “But unfortunately they gave our score to five other couples. That killed all of our chances [of staying on the show].”

Tyrese Gets Kicked Off Radio Interview For View Against Liquor Stores

Tyrese is one of the coolest cats I’ve met. SO, when I heard he got kicked off of a radio interview mid stream, I had to wonder why?

The rapper and Fast Five actor claims he was asked to leave a a radio station in Delaware during an interview Monday because he expressed his distaste for liquor stores.
Invited on the show to promote his album, and new song, STAY, feat. Taraji P. Henson, Tyrese shared that he thought liquor stores should not be allowed near schools and that he just saw one close by. Amen Tyrese!
“Get them cats out of here … selling alcohol across from your kids school, homie. You gotta know how to put pressure on dudes selling in your hood,” he said.

Apparently, that offended the Program Director because when the show cut to commercial, Tyrese was asked to leave the building and told he was “disrespecting” the Delaware community. Say what?!?

Tyrese took to Twitter to rant:

“I just kicked out of a radio station frm a [program director] who had a problem w/ me speaking on liquor stores that are by elementary schools in Delaware.

In 17 years I hv NEVER been kicked out of a radio station.. Because I have a problem w/ liquor stores being across from elementary schools?

Wow! We just got kicked out of radio station for speaking the truth and wanting to uplift the community..[Tyrese ReTweet of BellaMatrix]

Was a rough day.. I was just tryna return the love to DE and got kicked out of te radio station

I was also told that the PD made them ERASE my interview so that NO ONE could HEAR me SPEAK on the issue of the liqour stores near kids.

Love is love y’all .. When you stand for something.. You will create a shift in the universe.. Salute to all of you for your support!

If you don’t STAND for something.. You will damn near fall for Anything.

If you don’t know WHO you are.. Or your purpose in life.. You will go your whole life with people TELLING you who you are..”

YOU TELL ‘EM HOMIE!
Tyrese also Tweeted this pic with the caption: “Killing my people.. I’m in the hood in Delaware I asked the local store for Gum he said NO GUM.. This is what he’s serving”:

Southwest Airlines Responds To Claims That Leisha Hailey Kicked Off Plane For Being Gay

Leisha Hailey, an actress from Showtime’s The L Word, claims she was escorted off of a Southwest Airlines flight Monday for kissing her girlfriend on the plane.

Leisha’s girlfriend, Camila Grey, took to Twitter after the incident to say:

“So we’ve joined the ranks alongside @BJAofficial and @ThatKevinSmith for being kicked off an @SouthwestAir flight, this time for being gay. @SouthwestAir We didn’t know intolerance and discrimination for slouchy pants, being overweight or being gay was part of your family values”

Hailey then Tweeted her version of the events:

“I have been discriminated against by @SouthwestAir. Flt. attendant said that it was a “family” airline and kissing was not ok. This is an outrage. I demand a public apology by @SouthwestAir and a refund. Hate is not a family value. I will never fly this airline. We were escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue. @SouthwestAir endorses homophobic employees. No one made her accountable.”

“They don’t like us,” the actress also Tweeted.

Southwest responded to the allegations by saying the employees simply acted in response to passenger complains about the actress’ “excessive” affection toward her girlfriend.

The statement reads, “Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all Customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behavior and not gender. The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight.

We are ready to work directly with the passengers involved to offer our heartfelt apologies for falling short of their expectation.”
