I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Colton Haynes may not be coming back to Teen Wolf Season 3. The actor shocked everyone when he announced his exit from the show yesterday over Twitter: “These past few yrs have been the best of my life. I’m sad that this chapter has ended, but excited for a new one to begin. Thx for the love.”

Haynes, a fan favorite, has played the character of Jackson for the show’s first two seasons. E! reports that Haynes’ exit is due to failed contract negotiations. The first five episodes of the new season have already been shot and Colton is not in any of them.

I am hoping that Colton’s Tweet was intended on getting the negotiations started again because there appears to be some glimmer of hope that Colton and MTV may come to terms after all.

MTV released a statement saying, there is “absolutely no truth that Colton is being pushed out or that he, or any cast member, is being replaced. We love Colton and look forward to his returning with the entire cast for Season 3 of Teen Wolf.”
