Gwyneth Paltrow is the most beautiful woman in the world…according to People magazine. People Magazine selected Paltrow to grace the cover of their annual “Most Beautiful” issue.

Gwyneth was shocked to find out that she was selected as this year’s “Most Beautiful.” She said, “When I first heard that I was gonna be on the cover of People’s ‘Most Beautiful’ issue, I honestly thought someone was playing a joke on me, and I had to reread the email three times. I was like, ‘This can’t be true. I’ve developed dyslexia. I’m not reading right.'” Paltrow went on to say, “It’s a very iconic cover in American culture, so it’s just amazing. And I think people feel really happy for you when you say you’re going to be in the issue.”

Paltrow’s family doesn’t always see her as “beautiful,” she tells the magazine, “Around the house, I’m in jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t really wear makeup,” she told People. “That’s what they’re used to,” she says. As for her husband, Chris Martin, “He’ll make a joke about it. If I’ve gotten fully dressed up, he’ll be like, ‘Oh, wow! You’re Gwyneth Paltrow!’ Because he’s used to seeing me in like baggy shorts and frizzy hair.”

Paltrow admits that her beauty doesn’t always come naturally. In April, she told Harper’s Bazar “I use organic products, but I get lasers. It’s what makes life interesting, finding the balance between cigarettes and tofu. I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I’m 50. I’ll try anything. Except I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy.”

The People Magazine cover comes as a welcome boost to Paltrow’s public image which has taken a beating in recent months.  The Oscar winner has come under fire recently for her extravagant lifestyle. Her cookbook “It’s All good” featured meals that cost a whopping $300 a day. Her “must have” items for spring cost a bank breaking $450,000.

This is Gwyneth’s first time gracing People’s “Most Beautiful” cover. Previous starlets featured on the cover include Beyonce, Julia Roberts, Cindy Crawford, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, and Kate Hudson. In addition to Paltrow, this year’s issue also features Kerry Washington, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lawrence, Jane Fonda and Pink.

Paltrow’s career will get another huge boost next month. She stars as Pepper Potts in the highly anticipated 3rd installment of the Iron Man franchise, which is set for release on May 3rd.
