From this moment forward, Ben Affleck will always be known as Batman.

Warner Bros. announced today that Affleck will replace Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming untitled Batman-Superman flick, opposite Henry Cavill. He will be the eighth actor to play the role which has also been played by the likes of George Clooney and Michael Keaton.

“We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics’ most enduringly popular Super Heroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some,” said WB president Greg Silverman.
