Wilmer Valderrama came to the set of Extra, bearing gifts from Disney for new father and Extra Host, Mario Lopez. took some time out from his extremely busy schedule to talk to 7online.com about the new upcoming “Handy Manny” special on the Disney Channel, and also Hispanic Heritage Month.
Valderrama lends his voice to portraying Manny, the loveable handyman in the Emmy-nominated Playhouse Disney series.A new special called “Handy Manny Big Construction Job” is premiering during Hispanic Heritage Month on Monday, October 11th at 7 p.m. on the Disney Channel.
Valderrama says he thinks it’s important the show airs during Hispanic Heritage Month because it promotes a positive role model and bi-lingual abilities for the Hispanic community.
The former “That 70’s Show” star has been very active with “Voto Latino” an organization that promotes voter registration among Hispanic Youth.
Valderrama can also be seen in the independent feature film “The Dry Land”, which is currently in theaters now.
He also recently wrapped production on “Larry Crowne” opposite Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts.
Those are just a few of the films Valderrama has been working on, as he is also busy with a new show called “Bugging Out” for the Science Channel.

According to Deadline, he’s teaming up with American Dad co-executive producers Murray and Judah Miller on the live action comedy with a musical component.
Wilmer will executive produce with the Miller brothers and SNL writer Akiva Shaffer, who is famous for doing SNL’s “Digital Shorts.”
A couple of months ago, Valerrama talked briefly about his new projects, telling us EXCLUSIVELY, “I have a couple of shows that are in development right now—TV show—just producing. Really exciting stuff, a couple things you guys are going to hear about.”
