Hilary Duff showed up at The Grove to tell Mario Lopez of Extra all about her new marriage and book, Elixir.
On her new married status to hockey player, Mike Comrie:
“It’s awesome. It’s the same [as being single] and a little bit better.”
On having kids:
Hilary blushed and said there is “No rush!” She continued, “Mike has a huge family and we have four dogs, we’re excited but we’ve only been married 6 or 7 weeks. Plus he’s away all the time. Maybve when he is done.”
On why she wrote her new book, Elixir:
“It wasn’t that I had an epiphany that I need to write a book. It didn’t happen like that. I’d taken a year off traveling a lot to see Mike. I was needing to do something creative, and I had these ideas and started creating all these characters in my head not knowing where the story was gonna go, but knowing I had a strong idea and going with it and I was just writing stuff down and finally my mom told me, ‘why don’t you write a book?'”
On what Elixir is about:
“It’s about a young girl, 17, who has lived in the spotlight her whole life because of her parents. She is a photo journalist and has an exciting life. Her dad goes missing and she makes it her mission to find her dad. And during that time, a mysterious man shows up in her photographs and guides her and leads her. There is a paranormal aspect to it. It was so much fun!”
