Kobe Bryant has become the first athlete – ever – to be immortalized in cement at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre! Yep- Kobe and not Michael Jordon, not Joe Montana, not Babe Ruth, not Tiger Woods, not Wayne Gretzky, nor Mohammad Ali. But Kobe Bryant.

On Saturday afternoon, Kobe had his hands and Nike-clad feet immortalized in cement next to the likes of Shirley Temple, Steve McQueen, C-3PO, Tom Cruise, Marilyn Monroe, Brad Pitt, and Lucille Ball.
Congratulations to the LA Lakers star – Guess that’s what five NBA championship rings gets you in Hollywood – especially if those rings were earned in this city.

“I feel like I’ve grown up in this city, and we’ve had a lot of ups and downs, but here we are—five championships, plenty of more to go, and I just feel extremely honored to be able to do this,” Bryant said during the ceremony for the event.

Bryant continued: “I feel extremely honored to be able to do this. It’s never something I actually thought about when I was watching movies. I never thought my hand and foot prints would be sitting right here at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.”

The Lakers star and his wife shared a kiss following the ceremony.  The very next day, Bryant went on to lead the West team to victory during the NBA All-Star game Sunday night and took home his fourth all-star MVP award.
