‘Columbo’ Star Peter Falk Dead at Age 83

Emmy-winning Peter Falk, the star of Columbo has died. CBS Radio News confirmed that Falk, 83, died on the evening of June 23.

Family members declined to discuss the cause of death, but Falk had been suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, his daughter told KTLA.


Falk was best known to audiences as the iconic character of Lt. Columbo on the series with the same name. But Falk was also nominated for two Academy Awards, for 1960’s Murder, Inc. and 1961’s Pocketful of Miracles.

Falk is survived by wife Shera Danese Falk and adopted daughters, Jackie and Catherine.
