The 42 people making up The Silhouettes shadow dancing team from Denver, CO, range in age from Emerson who is three years old to adults. They use a lamp and a screen to make the most unique dancing act I have ever seen.
On Tuesday’s America’s Got Talent (July 19, 2011), this group wanted to make America proud, so, they conjured up beautifully moving shadow pieces representing our Capitol, Mount Rushmore, Iowa Jima, Lady Liberty, and the Twin Towers of NY, against the music of God Bless of America.
There weren’t many dry eyes in the house or on the stage itself once these shadow dancers were finished. Even the Brits on the judges’ panel were moved. Piers Morgan loved the performance, calling it a world class act. He also said, “We’ve had quite a long night tonight and not much of it has been very good…and right at the end, we get an act which is.. fresh and creative and original…that was complete genius.” And it really was.
Sharon Osbourne: “It’s endless what you guys can produce. It’s just brilliant and I applaud you.”
Howie Mandel was moved to tears: “Original, unique, wow. You are worthy of your own show. You are already stars. I want to cry!”
