Who knew?!
Not Madonna, not Celine Dion, not Mariah Carey, not Elvis Presley, not Britney Spears, not even Justin Timberlake.
But Katy Perry and Michael Jackson now have an impressive accomplishment in common –they’re both the only musicians who have five # 1 songs from the same album.
Jackson enjoyed seven weeks at the top spot with his Bad songs, while Perry has so far occupied the top spot for a record 18 weeks.
Perry became the first woman, and the second artist since Jackson, in the 53-year history of the Billboard Hot 100, to send five songs from an album to No. 1, as soon as her latest single Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) shot to the top of the charts.
Teenage Dreams, California Gurls, Firework, and E.T. are the other number one songs from her 2010 album Teenage Dreams.
Strange as it sounds, Jackson’s iconic 1982 album Thriller which is the #1 best-selling album of all time was not the album that achieved the feat for the late artist. It was his 1987 follow-up Bad, with hits such as Man in the Mirror and Smooth Criminal.

Congrats Katy Perry, AKA, Mrs. Brand!
