Kelly Preston and husband John Travolta suffered an excruciating loss in January 2009 when their 15-year old son Jett passed away.
Kelly is now speaking out in the latest issue of Health and says she got through the ordeal because of her belief in Scientology.
“To be honest, [it was] the Scientology center. I don’t know if I would have made it through without it.”
Here are some excerpts from the interview:
On substance abuse:
“I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs. I’ve done all of that. And now, I live a really clean life.”
On giving herself advice:
“Don’t sweat the small things. Love your kids like it could be the last moment.”
On youngest son Benjamin:
“We [had been trying] for quite a few years…When I found out I was pregnant, I was floored. I’d snuck out of bed and then came back and woke Johnny up in bed. We both started crying. It was wonderful.”
On living with a pilot and having own landing strip:
“I’ll be sitting there [at home] doing something really normal with the kids and then all of a sudden I hear, ‘Whoosh!’ and see the lights of the airplane and he’s like, ‘Honey, I’m home!’”
