Right next to her boatload of Emmys, Oprah Winfrey will soon be able to showcase her Oscar!

The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences just started awards season early by announcing that Oprah will the recipient of the coveted Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her off-screen philanthropy.

The Honorary Award, an Oscar statuette, is given to an individual for “extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to the state of motion picture arts and sciences, or for outstanding service to the Academy.”

The Academy specifically cited Oprah’s foundation, her Angel Network, and her South African girls school.

Joining Winfrey in collecting an honorary Oscar at the Academy’s 3rd Annual Governors Awards on Nov. 12 will be James Earl Jones, the voice of the iconic Darth Vader who has started in over 50 films, including his big-screen debut back in 1964 in Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove.
