The Amazing Race Season 19 aired its season finale December 11, 2011.
After racing through 4 continents, 20 cities and nearly 40,000 miles, the final three teams raced to Atlanta, Ga., where one team won $1 million!
The first team to leave is the duo of Jeremy and Sandy at 12:04 am. Their task is to fly to the final
destination of Atalanta, Georgia and find the Flight Safety International for their next clue.Amani and Marcus who are from Atlanta are thrilled because they think this will give them an advantage. All teams arrive at the airport and learn that they are all on the same 8:30 am flight. After the flight, the contestants race to the taxi cabs to get to the Flight Safety Int’l school.
Jeremy and Sandy are the first ones to arrive and each team has to learn how to fly and land a plane at a multi million dollar flight simulator. Jeremy takes the lead with Sandy as co-pilot. Marcus is the lead for and Amani the co-pilot. Ernie and Cindy are the last team to start and Ernie takes the lead.
Jeremy and Sandy finish the task first and get the next clue. They learn that they must go to a residence called “The Dump.” Ernie and Cindy finish second. Marcus and Amani are on their third attempt to land the plane.
Jeremy and Sandy get bad directions but Ernie and Cindy head the right way and arrive at a Roadblock, “Who gives a damn?” For this roadblock, the teams have to use a typewriter to type out their next clue. The typewriters are missing the number 1 and must figure out on their own that they need to use the lower case L instead.
Meanwhile, back at the flight school, Marcus and Amani have yet to land the plane. Ernie and Cindy got the lead on the roadblock, but Ernie is having a tough time with typewriter. Jeremy and Sandy now have time to catch up because they get someone’s phone and get the right directions.
Ernie figures out that the use of the lower case L for the number 1 and finishes the clue. Jeremy and Sandy arrive at The Dump after Ernie and Cindy leave.
Ernie and Cindy now must figure out what numbers 44 – 714 – 74 mean. FINALLY! Amani and Marcus land their plane on their 12th attempt. Ernie and Sandy go to a hotel to use a computer and Google the numbers. They figure out the numbers belong to retired baseball player Hank Arron and that means they must go to Turner field.
