SPOTTED: Jack Black at The Grove in Los Angeles for an interview with Mario Lopez of Extra. Black walked from the waiting area and across the shopping mall to the Extra stage while sipping on iced tea. “I needed a little pick me up,” Black told Lopez before starting the interview.

Black was there to promote The Renal Support Network (RSN) which hosted its 13th Annual Renal Teen Prom Sunday in Sherman Oaks, CA for hundreds of patients with kidney disease.

Jack got involved with this endeavor when a family member who had had a kidney transplant asked him to come and sing at the event.

Black then reminisced about his own prom which was apparently not that great. “I went to prom and it was uneventful…I went with some friends of mine. Three dudes. We were like the three amigos. Is that lame?”

Jack also spoke about his upcoming new music album and called it a “comeback” album. He said it will be a “rise of the phoenix” event because his last album tanked and the new album will make his band become the biggest band on earth again. He said will have a clean version for the kids and a dirty version for the rest of us.  Gotta love this guy.
