Jim Carrey‘s 24 year-old daughter, Jane Carrey, auditioned on last night’s episode of American Idol.
Jennifer Lopez who used to work on In Living Color with Jim Carrey in the ’90’s realized who was standing in front of her and said, “I used to work with Jim. Oh my God! I remember you when you were little!”
Jane said being the daughter of a famous celeb can make things more difficult when trying to make it in Hollywood. “It is difficult growing up… trying to find your place in the world underneath this huge shadow.”
Jane added, “The last name hurts, I think. There is this pressure to be better. Sometimes, that makes me worse because I’m too nervous to begin with.”
Her last name didn’t hurt Jane on Idol as she made it to the next round. Her famous father said afterwards, “She’s amazing. I can’t wait for the world to understand what she has. Oh my God! This is going to be an exciting year!”
