We can all take a collective sigh of relief because Rachel Crow, the fallen contestant from last season of The X Factor, has landed herself a sweet deal. Actually, two sweet deals.
Not only has the 14 year-old inked herself a talent deal with Nickelodeon, she has also nailed a recording deal with Columbia Records.
Not too shabby for a contestant best known for breaking down when booted off of a singing competition show.
Crow will star in her own pilot on Nickelodeon and will also have a recurring role in the network’s new comedy series Fred: The Show. On the latter, Crow will play an awkward teenager whose acting and singing abilities aren’t taken seriously by her classmates.
For the pilot, she tells the NY Post: “We are in the early stages now. I want it to be definitely very ‘Rachel.’ Something that shows who I am and who I want to be.”
Crow, who has also been signed by Sony Music’s Columbia Records in partnership with X Factormentor Simon Cowell’s company, Syco said, “It’s such an honor to be signed to Columbia Records. To think that I am signed to the same label as my idols is a dream come true. I can’t wait to get in the studio and start making music.” Crow concluded, “And I am so excited to now be a part of the Nickelodeon family. I grew up watching Nick, and I’m a huge fan.”
