SPOTTED: Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer at The Grove LA Wednesday. The iconic band was there to make a huge public announcement: Their first studio album in 8 years will be released in 3 months!
“We’ve been underground for four months, doing what we do best,” revealed Steven Tyler. “We got two more songs to finish” before mixing, he added. Having reunited with Jack Douglas, who produced the band’s key 1970s albums, the band apparently has been quietly recording this record which will be the band’s 15th album.
Tyler explained that his band was finishing two final songs for the as-yet-untitled album but revealed three track titles: Legendary Child, Beautiful and Out Go the Lights. Aerosmith also confirmed that their Global Warming tour will kick off on June 16th in Minneapolis. It is currently scheduled through August 8th, with Cheap Trick joining in as the opening act.
“We will not let you down,” Tyler promised the frenzied fans.
Before making their big announcement, the band members made a grand entrance into the outdoor mall. Tom Hamilton rolled in a hand-drawn chariot/carriage. Joey Kramer rode in a white Lamborghini, Steven Tyler boomed in on a three-wheeled motor bike. Joe Perry arrived last in a yellow cab!
