LIVE UPDATE/RECAP:
Unanimous is not happy that Lou is still among them and that they are two more men down. Debbie on the other hand is very happy to present her charity, Children’s International, with her $50,000 winner’s check.
The teams meet Donald Trump at the New York Public Library and find out that for their next task, they have to make a viral video about a mop. Lou is chosen as the Project Manager for Unanimous and Tia for Forte. Tia’s ex was in commercial business so she feels like she can ace this task. The winning PM gets $50,000 for his/her charity.
The men think about using the mop as a “hero.”
For the women, Lisa comes up with “what’s your number?” like in the movie and here as in how many mops have you used in the past. Very cute! Tia loved the idea.
Clay is getting frustrated with Penn because he feels that Penn handles each task with the boardroom in mind. He also finds him condescending. He frustrates a lot of people. He also feels that his team is setting Lou up to fail. Arsenio and Lou respect that Clay stood up to Penn.
“I’ll mop the floor with you” is the concept the men come up with. At Forte, Debbie gets mad when things don’t go her way.
Penn continues to be upset with Clay and feels like he is being set-up to fail.
DAY OF TASK:
Unanimous presents their commercial first and they get a lot of laugh.
Forte has Debbie and Aubrey do a skit with a lead in to “what’s your number?”
BOARDROOM:
Lou is tired of people saying he has a handicap. Clay and Paul say Lou was a great PM. Clay even says that Lou is one of the hardest workers ever. The men believe they won.
Tia feels her team did great and says they are strong. She says Lisa is a star on her team but Lisa says that she never felt that Tia had a true grasp as PM. Ouch.
Dayanna says Tia she was stressed out as a PM. Debbie says there was a lack of communication. Tia says Debbie is too high strung. Don Jr. says Lisa, Debbie and Aubrey are always the main creators on each task.
Lisa names Dayana as the least valuable player on the women’s team. Lou says that if the men’s team loses, he will bring back Paul and Penn to the boardroom, referring to Penn’s negative attitude. It’s revealed that Penn has a lack of compassion for people and Clay agrees that he is not good at teamwork. Clay even said Penn disengages when not in charge.
They men agree that Penn did do some work but said he is condescending. Dee says Penn was disconnected and became very reserved when he did not get his way. Clay says this is harder on him than American Idol and that he lost his cool during the task.
Arsenio says he respected Clay for standing up to Penn.
When it came to the task, the execs did not feel that Forte executed their point properly but found them very entertaining nonetheless. The execs loved Unanimous’ tagline and that everything was integrated well. They did feel that the men missed a few points.
Unanimous wins.THE WOMEN DISCUSS THE TASK:
Lisa says that Dayana was a little bit too sexual for her taste. The loss seems to be Lisa’s fault since she made the writing decisions. Aubrey said that this was the least enjoyable task on the show and that Tia failed to utilize her team members as much as she could.
THE FINAL BOARDROOM:
Tia brings no one back with her.
WHO WAS FIRED:
TIA WAS FIRED!!Tia did not take anyone back with her to the boardroom. So, why did Donald only fire her? This is how it all went down. After the women lost, Tia admitted, “Unfortunately I know as project manager, my head is on the chopping block.”
She then asked Trump, “If I throw myself on the knife, as it were, take one for the team… because I was the clearing house for info, I was the final say, I approved everything and I was the task leader—if I do that, will you fire another person on the team as well?”
“No,” Trump answered.
“OK, then I have to take responsibility,” Tia said.
“Then Tia, you’re fired,” Trump said. “Thank you very much. Go ahead. Get out.”
