Motown week should have held an advantage for Gladys Knight. Ironically, it proved to be her downfall instead on Tuesday’s Dancing With the Stars results show.
Gladys and her partner Tristan MacManus ended up in the bottom two and had to fight for their chance to stay on the show by performing a “dance duel” against the other bottom-finishing couple, Roshon Fegen and Chelsie Hightower.
But it was Gladys who came up short and voted off of DWTS by a 2-1 vote from the judges – and now, she has danced her last dance on DWTS this season.
The 67-year old Knight, a crowd pleaser, was poised and gracious in defeat, saying she was “amazed at this journey.”
She added, “I learned so many things, and found so many friends and family.” Gladys had scored the lowest points on Monday night’s performance episode — a fact that did not evade the star. “More than likely they’re going to have us in the dance duel,” Gladys sighed, before adding “What-ever!”
Here are photos from Gladys and Tristan’s earlier visit to The Grove for an interview with Mario Lopez of Extra. Gladys, we will miss your spirit, charisma and charm!
