Some of the small-screen’s most famous faces rocked the red carpet at The Hollywood Museum in the historical Max Factor building to support Hollygrove’s programs which focus on helping children, strengthening families, building community, advocating for systems change and ensuring that families thrive.
“Hooray for Hollygrove”~ Celebrating 100 Years in Hollywood, presented by Juicy Couture, was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, Busy Philipps and Mary McCormack, with Rob Reiner serving as the night’s Master of Ceremonies.
Other celebrities in attendance included Sara Rue, Nicole Sullivan and Chris Williams. The event featured a sneak peek at the young Norma Jean exhibit, including memorabilia from one of Hollygrove’s most famous residents, who later became known as Marilyn Monroe. As well, attendees participated in a live auction, raising more than $60,000 on-site, in addition to an online auction which continues to raise funds for the non-profit.
The celebrity attendees who were all seated together got on so well together that they collectively bid on one of the auction items (a vacation package) and won! Now, they all (Neil & David, Busy and her husband, Mary McCormack and her husband) have a group vacation to look forward to.

During the live auction, Rob Reiner had a lot of fun bidding on the American Idol finale tickets, but not for himself – he just wanted to get the price up to help out Hollygrove…

While checking out the Marilyn Monroe’s memorabilia, Busy Philipps noticed that in one photo of Ms. Monroe, a woman seated next to her looked remarkably like Katie Holmes. The resemblance was so uncanny, Busy took a photo and texted it to her best friend Michelle Williams, who starred with Katie on “Dawson’s Creek,” (as you know), to see the amazing similarities between the two women. (It really was a pretty spot-on observation – made the rest of us joke that maybe Katie had time traveled to be in that photo…)
