For their second dance, Maria and Derek danced the Samba for a score of 29. Bruno really liked the quirky and unexpected details and said it all worked out beautifully even though it shouldn’t have. He called it brilliant! Carrie Ann said that was another stunner and called Maria a winner. Len said he liked the footwork and the rhythm of the whole dance. Said it wasn’t a traditional Jive, but it felt great with the music. He also said Maria had a little bit of a stumble.

This is the absolute worst. I like Donald and Peta, but it was his time to go – NOT Maria.
Sooooo disappointed to see Maria and Mark leave! They should have been in the final two, with Katherine and Mark eventually winning the Mirror Ball trophy! The two of them have been my picks from the beginning.
Derek and Maria ??????….can it get anyworse ABC???…either the public is just plain stupid, or the show is rigged from the start. How bout showing us the public the actual vote counts!!!!…why hide it if you aint hiding something???? Maria was by far one if not the winner this year!!!….or was it because Derek has won alot of trophys so far…somethings gotta give here I want an explanation or im done with DWTS for good!!!

How could Maria be the best when she didn’t perform crucial elements of the dance? -elements that the other dancers get judged on. She improved but her routines were far simpler than the others in terms of technical content. A major part of problem is the judges are so incredibly inconsistent. Everyone feels ripped off at one point or another.
Having been a DWTS fan from day one, with the elimination of Derek and Maria, your program has lost its credibility. There is obviously an underlying purpose in what you are striving to achieve. After all these years of faithfully following your show, I will never watch it again. You have lost at least one faithful and dedicated fan.
I’ve kept my mouth shut thus whole competition because Donald IS a good dancer and I actually like the guy. But the Steeler fan that I am can’t keep my mouth shut any longer. Packers just had to have someone on their team compete. And now Donald is in the Finals when Maria so much more so deserves to be there. She should have won it all, and that’s just sad. I’m going to vote my butt off next week for Katherine!
Happy to see Donald is still there, though I really think Mark & Katherine should have been the ones to go.. The judges favored her & William Levy way to much and really didn’t give the other dancers a fair shot throughout this season!!! Will miss Marias goofy laugh 🙂 Maybe she will be back for the All Star season in the fall!!
Fans voted last night to correct the overly generous scores the judges had been handing out to Maria and Derek. When you get a 29 for a jive with no flicks and kicks (nada, zip) people notice. And when you get a couple of easy ‘perfect scores’ while other, more deserving performances don’t, people notice.
