SNL suffers another big comedic loss moving forward. First, it was announced that Kristen Wiig was leaving the show. Now, it’s Andy Samberg who has confirmed long-standing rumors that he’s also exiting the iconic sketch show.
“It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life,” Samberg is quoted in The New York Times. “Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.”
Samberg called his departure after 7 years on the show “one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made.”
You can catch Samberg next in this summer’s That’s My Boy, a film co-starring Adam Sandler.
