SPOTTED: David Arquetteis in Israel filming a segment for the Travel Channel series Mile High. The 40-year-old took some time out of his schedule to celebrate his bar mitzvah at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem.
Arquette, whose mother is Jewish and father converted to Islam, completed the Jewish rite of passage Monday in Jerusalem at the holiest place for Jews to pray.
Jewish boys usually celebrate their bar mitzvah at 13, but better late than never at 40! “I had my Bar Mitzvah today at the wall. Finally I’m a man,” Arquette tweeted.
“He was very emotional, saying he was happy to be part of the chain of the Jewish people,” said Shmuel Rabinowitz, the rabbi who conducted the ceremony for Arquette. “I’m very pleased to see a man who is returning to his roots.”
