Well, this is just weird casting news. Nicole Scherzinger did not fare well on The X Factor USA and left the show after one season. But the former Pussycat Doll has just been hired to judge the The X Factor UK.

“I’m so excited to join the UK X Factor family,” Nicole said in a statement. “It’s where I got my start, so it feels great to come full circle. I can’t wait to see what talent the UK has to offer and to help inspire and bring out the best in these artists.”

The singer is taking over Kelly Rowland’s former spot and Peter Fincham, Director of Television at IT, is super excited about it.

“Nicole will bring her wealth of experience, both as a solo artist, and as a member of a group, to this year’s judging panel,” Fincham said. “We’re delighted that she’ll be joining us for the forthcoming series.”
