After last season’s disappointing ratings, American Idol needs a serious face lift and Adam Lambert may just be the fresh-faced celebrity to do the trick.
Let me explain. Since Jennifer Lopez might be out for next year, the former Idol and fan fave Lambert may be the right icon to replace her seat on the judge’s panel.
The Idol source claims: “They have been talking about Adam for over a month,” adding, “He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start. He knows what it’s like to be on the receiving end of the judges’ comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can’t go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show. People love him.”
Yes, people, including myself, love Adam and since American Idol had a dismal year last year where ratings are concerned, Adam may just be the right touch if one or more judges do not return. The Idol source explains that Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler aren’t necessarily guaranteed to return to the Fox show either. The source says Tyler’s plans are “up in the air,” and “Randy is great, but he’s part of the old Idol. They want to keep the soul of the show but have a new look, and for that reason he may well not be part of the new line up.”
